thanks ordered 2 as I think with any pan the longevity is a bit optimistic.
Thank you, heated!!!

Ordered, thanks.
good find op, heat added
I have other pans in this range, and yes they stainless steel but it's very thin and the non stick will not last very long - especially if you use the dishwasher

For £5 though it's a throw away price
Thanks

Don't act the goat
Had this as part of a set and the non-stick lasted about 6 months, all peeled off. Can't grumble for a fiver though.
Heat ordered
I've got the 10" frying pan in this range - and it cooks OK on induction, plus easy to clean - after one month it's a bit discoloured. I only paid £5 when Homebase were selling them off.
HEAT!

Hi-Res as tesco make it impossible to actually see what you are buying!

I had to google that, and by other comments I think the context would be more apt for yourself by even saying it.
Bought an Asda stainless steel wok without non-stick and have to use to much oil to not stick.Steel wok works great though with little oil.
Non stick for a wok is just ridiculous, teflon burns far too easily.

If you're going to use a wok, get a steel one and learn how to season it!

Buying this just to throw it away in 6 months is horrible.
Few things to consider when it comes to caring for you non-stick pans, squeeze a bit more out of it:
a) Avoid dishwasher - really over does the cleaning, high temp and harsh detergents
b) Avoid obvious things like metal scourers to scrub and steel utensils on the pan while cooking
c) Avoid dunking a piping hot pan into water, some claim rapid cooling adds to the stress on the coating
d) Always soak a rested pan in warm/hot tap water and wash with mild detergent

if you intend to stretch it further, look-up on 'seasoning' non-stick pans, or just come back to HUKD and find a replacement deal.
Nice' heat added - a lid would have been even nicer but never mind we can't have it all ways can we
Ordered 2.

I'm with you on that. A fiver will get you a good wok from any Chinese supermarket and then ask your local friendly takeaway to season it for you. Nothing will ever stick a

That's a fun idea!
How does this compare with Tefal?

Don't have a scientific answer to this. But going by know-how / hear say / personal preferences etc I believe Tefal has the lead over Prestige on non-stick cookware. I use both brands, for stainless steel pots and pans, Prestige is better.

Exactly. I don't know why people get these pans. They corrode eventually into your food if you're not careful.

If its not carbon steel, cast iron or ceramic it won't last.

It's a false economy.

I don't know about the ins and outs of cookware. If the Stainless steel is only on the outside and the inside is non-stick coating, what difference does that have over other non-stick pans like this one from tefal: amazon.co.uk/Tef…1NC?

I guess what I'm asking is, what does the stainless steel aspect add?
nice one my current one is knackered

Like the DM, without backing it up without any real data, I am going to say the stainless steel outer basin is going to help dissipate the heat better on the non-stick interiors. 'Studies' suggest that pans coated with Teflon can give off unhealthy fumes when the pans are heated to medium and high temperatures. The contrast looks better!? maybe! Its a fiver and that's the biggest USP for me.
Is this the new politically correct way of saying wok? We don't want to go hurting the feelings of kitchen ware now.

No. And calling a wok a wok isn't offensive. This isn't a wok, I believe it has a small flat base.
