Much underrated piece of kitchen equipment - fantastic results and very energy saving.

Heat given great deal :

We used to have one of these, they are superb. I do want another one, but would prefer a stainless steel one, still a hot deal!!!!

can you please confirm if this pressure cooler makes a loud whistle noise once finished ?

Am looking for a more silent less heart attack noise one lol thx

absolutely agree..
1. Saves hell lot of fuel.
2.Can be used for steaming various types of items using adapter.
2. Very good to cook indian style curries and beef..

Cons
1. Not sure if it has a washer type thing.. which goes bad in an year.

You mean a gasket? If it's made of silicone rubber it shouldn't perish.

The handles are a bit on the cheap/tacky side unfortunately. I have 2 Prestige pressure cookers - about 15 years old & they are absolutely solid, but they simply dont make them like they used to

Doesn't aluminium leak toxins into food?

Hard-anodised aluminium is safe, but not regular aluminium like this one.

Someone always comes out with the 'dont use soft aluminium cookware' when these things are on HUKD! Information link below...

I think its fine...plus if you are really worried about it, remember never to eat out again as most commercial kitchens use giant 'soft aluminium' pots to cook large scale quantities.......

If anyone does know where a 4l STAINLESS pressure cooker is available at a reasonable price, please let us know. I've been looking for one for weeks.

When i was a kid used to love pulling the heavy weight off the lid early..the steam looked just like the rockets from Space 1999! X) And never got it wrong (no food on the ceiling).

Thanks for the heads up, was about to order new bits for our existing prestige but a new one is costing very little extra. Cheers.

this one is a 6L if its any help amazon.co.uk/Pre…8-1

I've got a 6l pressure cooker and a 2l one (bought in India). Could do with a 4l one, in stainless. 6l is just too big.

Here's a couple of 4L ones

Can also be used as a makeshift autoclave.
Just saying.

I quite fancy a pressure cooker, never used one though. The reviews on this one are somewhat poor though so I won't be buying this one.
