An affordable 8 inch tablet . Probably voted cold because not the quality of a Samsung but at under half the price it might appeal to some.

Don,t take any abuse full stop, all you did is double post by mistake trying to help folk, any abuse tell them to go and make love to themselves.

PS bought this, use the current Maplin codes and you can get it for under £73 pounds, am collecting mine in the local store to make sure my better half gets it for Xmas.

care to share the discount code please?

£3 off a £30 spend, use code: 300-AWIN-DIS1
£5 off a £50 spend, use code: 500-AWIN-DIS2
£7 off a £75 spend, use code: 700-AWIN-DIS3

Offer valid until 05/01/2014

"This offer may not be used in conjunction with any other voucher or gift card"

Credit to c_chap56 for discovering the 'new' voucher codes that the website accepts.

These voucher codes can be stacked, meaning £15 off a £75 purchase!

use all 3 codes for £15 off, they all as still work as I've just tried them!

WOW! thank you so much for those codes worked a treat. Gonna go collect at store in a min £65 all in is a steal!

I must admit the search function on this site is really poor, used it many times when trying to look for a previous post.

FYI: Be aware that you'll probably have to get them to call their customers services as the discount doesn't come up at the stores end.
Have just picked one up and had to wait around while the store called their CS department to see if they could manually over-ride the £80 ticket price. Even had to forward my sales order to show that the discount had been applied at the checkout on-line.

Right, update....

I applied all 3 codes, paid my £65 via paypal for store collection, sorted BUT, my paypal confirmation email said £79.99....quick call to maplin CS and they have had to refund the other discount vouchers, so although you can stack all three, you probably won't get it at £65, unless your lucky..!

Either way, its a cheap, reasonably spec'd tablet for £73

Yeah I think I was pretty lucky to get it for £65. I guess now their CS department is aware of this they'll not honour stackable codes, but just a single code.

Spoke to soon. The screen on this thing is bad. REAL bad, unusable I'd say. Not worth £65 imo. Easily the worst screen Ive ever seen, at any price point you would not want to use this thing. Its going back!

Why? The one looked at in store was fine.

no IPS panel - the LCD panel used in this is the cheapest of the cheapest possible. I've honestly not seen worse. Its akin to the type of screen found on the cheapo Actel £10 mobile phones.

Everything else about the package is fine for the price (£65), but the screen is so bad its almost unusable for me plus it also suffers from pretty bad yellow hueing at the edges and has incredibly bad viewing angles. Again, almost the worst I've seen.

I know its a very budget device, but the one and most important thing of a touch screen device is the screen imo. And thats the one thing that this product fails with. I don't expect much at this price point but man, this thing isn't even passable...... barley usable.

Ordered yesterday morning, delivered this morning. Screen looks good to me. 12700 scored on Antutu and should be more than adequate for daily general use.
I was charged £79.99, paid with PayPal, although 3 stacked codes brought price down to £64.99 and this was stated on screen and emailed order confirmation.
I've emailed Maplin CS about price/charge discrepancy and await a reply.

let me know you get on, mine delivered today also but haven't opened it, took a shot of page saying £64 yet £15 more out of paypal, feel like taking this back to shop in morning

If you're happy with the tablet then just swnd an email to customer.service@maplin.co.uk stating the amount charged to PayPal is more than that stated in your order confirmation.
That's all I did and now received emails appologising and informing me that £15 will be refunded to PayPal account. Result!

Refund is in PayPal account now: transactiontime stamp is same as email

good enough review for this and next morning delivery : This is a really amazing tablet for the money. It's a similar price to the Hudl but in my opinion has a much better build quality. It's running the latest version of Android and that's fast and smooth. The unit is also really surprisingly light to hold and carry around. I use the tablet for watching movies and surfing the web from the comfort of my sofa. It's a handy second tablet to have that stays permanently on the coffee table in the living room.
