Found 1st Nov 2010Made hot 2nd Nov 2010
Preston North End will open the gates free of charge to members of the Armed Forces for the Remembrance Day weekend fixture against Hull City.

The Friday 12th November encounter will see North End welcome serving and retired troops to Deepdale to enjoy the game for free, with supporters given the chance to salute the country's heroes.

Nice idea

Is this offer avaliable to away fans?

Shouldn't matter who our servicemen + women support, they should be allowed in IMO.

nice,it is a pity every club should do it would not cost a lot

this is the reply i got from PNE

Unfortunately we cannot offer the free tickets to armed forces in the away section for this fixture as it has been designated as a 'local promotion' under Football League rules.

However, we are happy to distribute the complimentary tickets in home areas to anyone meeting the criteria of presenting valid ID to show the unit they represent, and are expecting to welcome supporters from a wide variety of clubs on the night, so we won't be asking members of the armed forces to state which club they support. The free tickets will be available on the night of the game and we will certainly not sell out for a Friday night Sky fixture, so there is no need for supporters living away from the area to worry about not being able to claim free tickets on the night

Least they are letting away fans in free too!

Come on you HULL!

Nobbers cant fill there ground anyway.....................UP THE POOL
