Extremely Rugged USB Drive - "High Speed, Flameproof, Waterproof and Bulletproof"

The Pretec 16GB i-Disk Bullet USB Flash Drive is one of the world's most rugged pen drives. It is almost indestructable. The Pretec i-Disk Bullet was recently featured on the Channel 5's Gadget Show and survived being blown up by TNT, Submerged in a pool of water and withstood a high powered flame-thrower. After being submitted to these tests the data on the drive was still intact and the drive loaded all of it's data without any problems. Needless to say it won the test against other products and was crowned the most rugged USB drive available on today's market.

Pretec i-Disk 16GB BULLETPROOF™ ruggedised USB2.0 Flash Drive is constructed of a rounded double layer of metal protection. i-Disk BULLETPROOF™ was built to be tough and was constructed to be water, fire and any "heavy" impact resistant. i-Disk BULLETPROOF™ has been tested through many extreme environments to ensure its durability even on a shooting range to demonstrate that the product truly is shockproof. The Pretec i-Disk Bullet is also a high speed drive capable of transfer speeds up to 20mbp/s.

The drive also features Windows Readyboost which is a feature enabling you to use part of the drive to increase your pc's RAM. This feature is only available on Windows Vista.

fair comment but if you check the title of the listing it says 16GB so that's a fault on their side, maybe its a mistake from copying the 4GB listing one?
Maybe someone can email them to confirm this tho

Tried and tested on the bulletproof claim

PS it fails

If there's bullets flying anywhere near my direction the last thought in my head would be " is my pen drive bulletproof " lol

Had one of the 8GB ones for over a year, and it is great. I used to go through plastic pen drives nearly weekly, and this has not had one problem, and more importantly still solid! The print came off pretty quick, but still a solid drive, and it goes around all day every day in my pocket attached to my keys.

This is a hot price too! They don't fluctuate much, so if you can get a pound off, it's worth it!

Fails on Gimmickproof.

Dont think it matters what kind of proof it is if the File system fails eventually.

I dont think paying the extra for all these proofs is worth the extra cash. I certainly am not 007 and I certainly wont be going to any war zone to make rich people even more money!
Things that dont need to be are becoming too militarised....I for one dont want to live in an american state of mind! Give me an up-corruptable USB stick and I will pay extra for this!

.500 Magnum blew it to peices in one shot! (5:30secs)

Slightly unrelated but I still remember Tomorrow's World and others demonstrating that you could spread jam on a compact disc, wipe it off and it would still play, to everyone's utter amazement.

I can't understand the amazement at jam spread on a disc to cause it to stop working, unless it was jam with nuts or sharp objects in it

They spread jam on the wrong side iirc!

what calibre of bullets did they fire against it? I bet it cannot withstand a Barret 50 cal.

Computerman

Magnum 357 put a nasty dent in it 50 cal obliterated it!

How do you connect them to your Xbox/360/DVD player to watch films from? Sounds good, oh wait a minute you cant, you also need to be connected to the net to use it, which is no use if you keep a PC toolkit on it for fixing peoples PC's, or use it for installing Windows (I have one with Windows 7 in all its guises and another with XP), I keep a backup of all my Software on them too.

Not to mention some poor sods have a limited bandwidth per month
