Lincoln. It’s a nice set. They had more on the cage but they didn’t unwrap them so couldn’t see set numbers.

These aren't part of the stolen sets are they?

I would sincerely hope not. The stolen ones were mainly 24 in 1 advent builds from 2016, initial reports indicated though I’m not 100% certain.

Edit I checked the detail in the link I provided :
The sets stolen are set number 40222 - a 24 in 1 building set that was issued promotionally by Lego and cannot be purchased in shops.
Worth checking!

Nope. None of them on the shelves. Disgusting people to steal anything, let alone this from a charity & hospifal(s).

They’re rare in the sense they’ve never been on sale. They’ve only ever been a promotional item, on LEGO.com & in the LEGO store during a small window in June 2016, when you spent £50+. Theyre now in store to buy for the first time.
Wait this set is rare!? I've had it on my desk for months at work and had no idea!

Relatively.
Not that rare if they're 9.99 prime, though...
Do you happen to have the Poundland product code for the one you managed to get? Thx

Yes, greatly. Thx.
Great deal and everything, but isn't the whole idea of Poundland that everything costs a Pound?

It was the "Previously Unavailable RARE LEGO" bit that got me checking on …It was the "Previously Unavailable RARE LEGO" bit that got me checking on the stolen sets! I don't believe in using the word rare when it comes to Lego, especially when you consider they have manufactured more than 400 billion pieces! Approximately 7 Lego sets are sold every second around the world!

I completely understand, however some LEGO genuinely is rare.

I have been collecting & selling LEGO for years now, and it’s easy to see a trend, year on year. LEGO increases in price exponentially, the longer you invest / keep hold of it.

For example, a set I purchased in 2015, is now worth 2 times the price it was in 2015. That’s due to it no longer being made, sold, or distributed.

Jump back even further and the prices jump more and more etc. People are willing to buy items they can’t get hold of, and pay more, as they are rare. They weeent rare to begin with, but years on, they certainly are.

Yeah. Still bogglea my mind. Went in and most things you initially see are NOT £1. Hey ho. Sign of the times.
Not rare at all as Home Bargains in Reading had them for £2.49 last year. I spoke to the manager and bought them all so no point posting ;-)

Love TJM for bulk buy bargaining ;-)

Come on, let's drop the hype.

its not rare. It was a freebie and given out in quantity like all Lego freebies.

its been easily available to eBay for £10 and that price will drop further whe Poundland stock gets resold.

the heads up is appreciated, but it's being overhyped as a rarity with value. That's not the case.

Your definition of rare and mine are worlds apart. Just because something raises in price does not make it rare! Next you'll be telling me the pound coin is rare (Over 3 billion of them!). No rare in my book means something under a dozen, perhaps even single figures, not something that has been mass produced in the millions and then bought up by collectors. That makes it scarce, not rare...
Scarce = insufficient to satisfy the need or demand
Rare = coming or occurring far apart in time; unusual; uncommon...
The festive pedants are out in force for this deal. Good deal op. Heated.

While a pound coin is not rare in itself certain commemorative editions are even though at the end of the day its just a pound coin.

This is a previously limited availability set which required a minimum spend to receive and so does meet your own requirement of unusual or uncommon and can be considered rare.

Have a happy Christmas.

I don't know what you are smoking (or drinking too much eggnog?), but rare is not a word I would use to describe something that has been created in the billions or even the millions...
You are changing the parameters to suit your argument. I stated "rare in my book means something under a dozen, perhaps even single figures, not something that has been mass produced in the millions and then bought up by collectors."

I have never smoked anything and much to my annoyance I havn't had any eggnog since 1989. Thank you though for your concern.

Oh I've got one of these, better not eBay it yet, might get accused!
There is NO SUCH THING as rare LEGO nowadays. Every set is way overproduced and will be available at RRP or below for years. It's GAME OVER for investing!

LEGO are planning to re-release all popular retired sets in 2018.

These aren't part of the stolen sets are they?

Now for sale at poundland? the country has gone to the dogs but i dont think retailers are up to hijacking toys destined for kids wards.
To save someone some time, there aren't any in Manchester Arndale poundland.

WRONG
They were given away in the US in November 2017.
Clearly they've got plenty of these in the warehouse, and £10 on ebay doesn't mean that much, most ebay lego is a rip-off.
This is a £8 set I guess, so £5 is ok, but it's not rare. Rare would be way more than £10.
I got lucky at the Merry Hill store today; there was one left on the shelf - it had fallen over at the back.
