This seems very cheap already. I thought it would be a while before it came down to this sort of price, it's not even been a week. I wonder why it's that low so soon.

Heat added for the price, but this is dropping fast ! oO

This game is getting great reviews but selling poorly. It doesn't seem like many people even realise it's released.

Bethesda have a policy where they DON'T hand out review copies of the game before launch. This means people who are into gaming and read articles, watch youtube, buy magazines etc won't even know it's out as there are no reviews.

Stupid policy, ruining great games with poor sales. Seems like many shops are just trying to shift stock and may have over-bought.

I had a problem with the code they sent me earlier, Steam rejected it with an error but actually added the game to my library. Just a heads-up to anyone else with the same issue.

I think a lot of people think this game is what emerged from the troubled development of Prey 2, rather than a new game started by a different studio. Add to that the dumb Bethesda review policy and I'm not surprised it's struggling. Shame because by all accounts it's very good (I haven't started it yet).

Another dull story FPS witth someone talking in your ear on a crackly radio the whole way. Much better games out there now with actual innovation in gameplay like horizon or zelda or witcher 3. Try the prey demo first on ps4/xbox if you're thinking of buying.

You're comparing two entirely differently styles of game there...You clearly don't realize what this game is supposed to be if you think it's a generic FPS. Horizon isn't exactly innovative, anyway. This is far more than just another generic FPS and is more of return to aimmersive games such as System shock and Bioshock.

Demo was a pretty poor representation of the game, final game is great. Also Horizon shouldn't even be in the list alongside those 2 when it comes to 'innovation', it's pretty much Far Cry 3/4 in third person from a gameplay loop perspective.

The demo on the PS4 was rubbish. It looked terrible and the controls on console are awful. The PC plays and looks much better.

Steam did that to me when I redeemed a Humble Bundle key recently.

These had it for £25.99 as a preorder so not a huge drop.

By all accounts it's a decent game just not been getting much press.

Zelda is about as innovative as a slice of toast. All they did was took the old Zelda formula and added survival and open world elements to it.

Plus it's a single player only game so a lot of PC users will just be waiting for the five finger discount edition.

The problem isn't the game. Its the amount of new games released recently and getting through them. I haven't pressed buy since March and I have bucket loads of AAA still unplayed.
They can all wait, the GTX 1080 TI are out as well. Gamers are not all rich

I have not played it but apparently it plays similar to half-life. I will definitely buy it at some point but as Spark said it, PC gamers will wait for a discount. Single player games are OK around a tenner. Just bought Dragons dogma dark arisen for a tenner. As long as you can get over the fact that it's a console port and you can even use the mouse wheel in the menu because consoles don't have one it's a good game. And the graphics take you right back to the first tomb raider title.

Back to topic, Prey seems like a brilliant game for 10-15 quid because sure as heck I will enjoy it.

It's not a 'console port'. I dont even know if people understand what term means these days. Gets overused and abused way too often.

PC actually seems to be the main development platform for the title and is the unequivocally best way to play it. It is not demanding, looks better and plays way better with kb/m(especially with the extra input lag on consoles).

£23 is a steal. This game is amazing. If you've got other stuff to play, I get waiting, but otherwise this game is 100% worth full price, let alone just £23.

I was actually talking about Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen being a console port and if you don't think that game is indeed one then you have never played a pc game.

If you misread my previous comment then no worries, I don't think Prey looks and feels like a console port, at least not a bad console port at that.

This game isn't either.

Problem is, it is that first impression. I was really looking forward to Prey, but after playing the demo I cancelled the preorder. I just got fed up of being pounced on by Mimics out of nowhere and the controls (on Xbox at least) were clunky. Also factor in that there is (or was) a game breaking bug on the PC version, and it all adds up. With the Bethesda review embargo, IGN decided to use the PC version as their review platform, and as the reviewer experienced the bug, he was unable to complete the review. He did score it though - 4/10 - and regardless of peoples opinions on the source, reviews like that are gonna sting.

Is it not a first person game, where you shoot weapons?

I think it takes more than those two mechanics to be a FPS.

Being in a first person perspective and pressing "shoot" does not make it a FPS. You need more mechanics than that.

Minecraft can be first person. Minecraft has a bow. Is minecraft a FPS? Of course not, it would be laughable to say it is.

The shooting has to be the main focus of the game. In Prey it doesn't necessarily have to be - you can complete the game without firing a gun.

Even with that review, it's averaging over 80 on PC. It's also at 88% positive on Steam user reviews.

That's exactly what it is. First person shooter isn't a genre, it's just a criteria. Just like third person shooter or top down/isometric.

Next you'll be saying expansions aren't DLC.

Combat is a bit dull but I like the atmosphere, people have been criticising the graphics but I like how it has a clean sterile look, characters has that signature arkane, painterly style. If you like half life/system shock/bioshock I think you will like it. PC version runs like a dream as well. Haven't seen it drop below 120fps @ 1440p max settings on a 1080ti/4790k
