These type of scooters, combined with better public transport, could change the way we travel around our large cities and towns. I have used one of these and they are real game changes. Just need the law to catch up .
I've had this scooter since late November, it has turned out to be one of the best purchases I've made. It's already paid for it's self from the travel costs that I've saved. I'm 96KG and it goes around 16mph with me on it. I've done over 580 miles so far. I live in London.
is this better than my redmi note 5

Was contemplating about buying from Bangood / gearbest but was feeling hesitant about warranty, level of service should things go wrong, or how they deal with personal data.
Saw a guy going over cobbles nearly head first into a canal. An hour later he was walking back with it over his shoulder, I'm guessing the battery gave out... Eh i bought a folding electric bike instead. Only knocked over one pensioner so far!

Love mine, I paid £280 via Halfords a few months back. That being said, I'd this isn't a bad deal, just not a great deal.

If they're £2xx via the Chinese sellers I'd use them I think.
£360 plus free p&p from pure scooters with the option to cut payments into 3 instalments

The sad thing is I'm scared to use mine on public roads thinking I'd get points. I take mine to parks which is costing me fuel .
So hard. I use mine once a week

I’ve considered the Chinese deals a few times but unknown if they’d be the euro model or not when shipped from China. When shipped from Poland/Spain etc often oos or cost more

No different other than the plug (adapter is £2) and the fact the EU models ship with 2 spare tyres and tubes.

And the fact you can flash the firmware on the Euro models for better performance

Can we use it on the road in London? Yes or no?
Been using these in San Francisco. They are everywhere, but not littering like some city’s. These will be our main transport in city centres soon. Uber2.0
I can only echo what has already been said. Yeah, illegal on our roads. Ride like a tit and expect repurcussions, ride conscientiously and chance your luck.

I use it to go to work, 1.5 miles away, normally a half hour walk, now a 7 min ride with a big grin on my face. I'm 85kg and have to help kick it up some hills, furthest distance I've made is 9 miles, when it gets to about a quarter battery you're almost going at walking pace.

These are definitely the future of personal transportation, so quiet, easy to use, fun and emission free. Best purchase I've made in a while. Theres a few things to look out for, shim the headset, protect the cable on the rear mud guard and get yourself some motorbike tyre levers and put some rhinoskin between the tyre and inner tube. A puncture on one of these is not fun.
No road tax or insurance on these? Are they even road legal in this country where the treasury makes £28 billion on VED?
Got mine last week from purescooters.com with a 10% off deal. The advantage with buying from an outfit like them is you get to speak to enthusiasts rather than a bunch of box pushers. Honestly -I was pretty hesitant about getting one but absolutely love it and won’t be getting in to my car half as much now. As someone mentioned earlier we’ve just got to wait for the law to catch up!!!

What Halfords deal did I miss that made it £280?
I was sceptical of these but so much fun on them in San Diego and LA using the Bird, Lime and Lyft apps. There’s definitely a place for them if ridden sensibly

I do. So do many others. Love it.
Just attach pedals to it, totally legal then (lol). Law doesn't state the pedals have to propel you.

If police pull you up tell them you saw a crazy looking dude round the corner carrying a knife you think, they soon be on their way.

Maybe with the ongoing cuts police cars will be axed then all you will need is a slightly faster scooter than the law....
So technically, even though they are not legal, it is very unlikely police is going to pull you up, isn't it? I've been tempted to buy it many times, but I barely see them on the streets in Newcastle. Has anyone being pulled up by police?
Thanks

I work in Newcastle. We have a guy in the office who uses one of these daily and has never had any problems with the police. Very tempted myself for the final bit of the commute.
Fell in love with the idea of these scooters in Austin. I think Lyft use the same model and Uber JUMP scooters definitely use the Segway ninebot model.
They are really great for getting around town quickly and economically – Hopefully the UK transport laws will get updated soon so they can be used and hired over here too.
Great idea!
