Emailed John Lewis this morning and they will price match the current deal of £199 @Asda Direct.

*John Lewis are now selling the iPad mini for £219, but I believe they will price match any of the high street stores selling at £199.

it's a 16gb iPad mini, which does not have the retina.

Storage added to title.

I would wait until nexus 8 is out rather than an old iPad mini but that's me!

Can you price match like this on the JL website or is it in store only? Anyone know?

I can't fine the offer on asda anymore? So I assume jl won't match?

the offer is still alive direct.asda.com/iPa…tml

Price match on JL web site, priced matched out TV and got a 5 yr warranty too.

Good luck doing with asda direct if you have any problems.Taken me the best part of a month to get a refund after numerous calls and emails.Eventually had to get my credit card to get the money back.Wouldnt deal with them again but John lewis I would.Decent deal but would rather have a nexus and some left over pennies.

A recipe to miss on good deals is to submit a JL price match request and then to get a negative reply from them quotting that the item in question is no more available at the quoted retailers website. Very annoying especially when you get a reply from them after few days. So if a deal is really hot, its not gonna survive for days. Though I managed a couple of tablets from JL price match when they used to do it on the phone. That price match form submission is a bulls**t.

same price on asda

I had similar experience with iPad air when it came out against Tesco deal. They replied and said wouldn't price match as oos at tesco. I responded that it was in stock when I submitted my price match request and said their CS was **** because if they didn't match it meant they had made me miss the deal with tesco. They responded that they checked again and it was in stock when I submitted my claim and DID price match, bit of hassle but worked in the end. So I would recommend anyone considering this submits a claim while Asda still have stock, you don't have to order but get it in the bag, if I remember rightly price match offer is valid for 30 days.

Should add that this isn't the retina one to the title IMHO, this is an ancient tablet

Whoosh

The point of this one is that, as the title states, John Lewis price match Asda but you get 2 year warranty

paripatel

same price on asda

please do not lie to people

Cold cold cold.
JL don't even have to lower their prices any more they just offer this price promise so they can squeeze maximum money out of people and offer the lowest discounts.
What incentive do they have to lower their prices when they know people will run to them anyway.
I would rather buy from the retailer that offered the original discount.

My experience is that, where Apple products are concerned, the John Lewis guarantee is worthless. I've had two ipad issues where their policy is to either send it away for testing or have me take it to an Apple shop.

Really? You wouldn't rather have the 2 year warranty and exceptional customer service?...

Great deal,heat added.

Zavvi had the Retina Mini at £225 in the outlet store a few months back. IMO keep waiting till Retina drops again..

JL dont have this on at 199 on website anymore it seems

Try reading the OP: Emailed John Lewis this morning and they will price match the current deal of £199 @Asda Direct

It's a price match deal i.e. YOU have to ASK John Lewis to match ASDA's price. They don't just drop their online price to match it...

I am really, really intertested in one of these, but concerned and heard rumours this is not going to get the next IOS software update as Apple tries to focus on the Retina Display models...

I know a lot of new apps will not work with the older versions of IOS, so in effect if this does not get the update it will be useless after a few months of the new IOS update.

Even if it can't take the next software update it doesn't immediately make it useless

You can price match this online only. You fill in the form before you buy the product to confirm they would price match or after but no guarantee they would price match if you do it after.

I emailed JOhn Lewis for the price match - and they have refused it - they say because the colour is different on the website. I thought that John Lewis had product knowledge that was supposed to be their strength - this has really put me off John Lewis as they are looking for semantics to refuse the price match. Everyone is aware that Apple only produce 2 colours and that is silver/white and space grey/black - they are refusing it because they call it silver and Asda has called it white. It is exactly the same product. This doesn't show John Lewis in a very good light - I fortunately submitted it before I bought it - rather than have it refused after I bought it,
Not impressed with John Lewis

This is the description is of the colour options:
Apple's 2013 iPad line remains discreetly metallic when it comes to color schemes. It's not as bad as 2010, mind you, when you could have your choice of color, as long as it was black. Now you can get a silver back with white faceplate, or a space gray back with a black faceplate. And you can get either finish on either new iPad, the iPad Air or Retina iPad mini.

Any time I have asked JL to price match an item I do it via e-mail. In their response they give you a reference number. Once you have purchased the item at their price, and received it, you e-mail them again with your order number and they refund the difference back to your credit card.
I have done this three times when buying TV's. No problems at all.

Really not the case, there are a lot of apps that work on older systems

It's ok, he'll grow up someday.
