Thanks.

Lots of ingredients for only £1.

Only 21% meat !!! Not for me thankyou.

Ah, reminds me of Christmas Hampers from the milkman in the 70's.

Luv em.
Have some heat but they are the same price in Iceland if people have no asda nearby.

I had one of these the other day and played 'Hunt the Meat'.
Unfortunately, I lost.
Still tasty for a buck though.

Princes branded now... bye bye fray bentos

Pie ..... in a tin. I'd have to be very, very drunk to have one. But that must have happened at least twice as i have had two empty tins for years that are ideal for making my own pies in. Eat one, freeze one which i now have on those occasions when i am very, very drunk.

Are they the same?

Yep princes own the brand, appears they run both together though. Same product in different tins

Not much meat but delicious all the same.

These are normally £1 in loads of shops, not really a deal

Are you sure? This:

liverpoolecho.co.uk/new…352

suggests that Princes sold its Fray Bentos canned meat and pies business to Baxters several years ago. Though maybe things have changed since then?

I thought that the Princes ones were far worse meat-wise than Fray Bentos.
Princes seem to have gone the way of , say, Bush under argos.

These are a bit like pot noodles for me, I always think I want one, then I have one and always regret it

These are vile, sorry. A poor man's Fray Bentos.

12% beef not sure what part 9% pork Kidney and that is it 79% god knows! These are ming

Might be the same price but worlds apart in quality. Fray Bentos contains proper prime beef.

Just binned three Fray Bentos which have sat in the cupboard for years, they're absolutely disgusting.

How much meat are you expecting? 100%, a slab of meat in a tin.

Only 21% meat !!! Not for me thankyou.

What pies do you eat then? Even Hollands pies are 21% meat, Greggs slices are 29%, what you expect a pie to be when alot of it is pastry etc

Always used to have these in the Christmas hamper when I was a kid. Fray Bentos mind you and they were fab. That and the tinned sponge syrup cake that made us cough. All that washed down with Babycham, we were allowed allowed a small bottle each, and if we were really lucky we got a sip of Emva Cream. Heat for the nostalgia...

Ah, 500 years old from China. That explains the piquant and complex mouthfeel.

Emva Cream

What are you really expecting for a pound? Of course there's hardly any meat. And by "meat", they're not saying which part of the animal it comes from. Certainly not sirloin!

Had one a few months back for old time sake, wished I hadn't, repeated on me for hours..

Fray Bentos Yes. Princes No.

Thanks the post OP, but there's a reason Princes foods are found in B&M etc and that is that the expensive ingredients (meat) are replaced with cheap stuff (gravy).

Tried the Chicken in White Sauce once, should be renamed White Sauce with a teeny piece of chicken in.

It's a no from me. Bentos is always somewhere for a £1 a tin
