Danish Packaging, but plays fully in English. There are many other Studio Ghibli titles on Coolshop, but as far I can see, the spoken language is Danish.

On a journey to find the cure for a Tatarigami's curse, Ashitaka finds himself in the middle of a war between the forest gods and Tatara, a mining colony. In this quest he also meets San, the Mononoke Hime.

Maybe blasphemous but I enjoyed this more than Spirited Away :).

was about to order but it seems the playback language is only English dub …was about to order but it seems the playback language is only English dub and no option to select original Japanese + English subs.so for me it's not even worth £1 as anime is best watched with original Japanese audio.I find allEnglish dubs poor, soul-less and just bad.

I am about to order then read your comment, such put me off.

what about those at shops selling, do they play with Japanese with English subtitle? Thanks

I didn't notice that, worth adding to the deal post for info
Too late for me as I've already ordered, I'll just hope for a decent dub

I find Ghibli to be the exception , though. Especially when the version of Mononoke I saw on TV in Japanese had terribly translated subs that had such bad grammar I couldn't finish it.
My favourite studio ghibli movie closely followed by spirited away. Heat

Great for kids if indeed this version isn't Japanese language with English subs.

I totally disagree with that. Especially when it comes to virtually any Ghibli English dub (Arriety is an weird exception) I find that the actors put their heart and soul into it even more so than some of the original Japanese voicework. Billy Crudup's voice talent for Ashitaka was really engaging and got me really invested in that character. It never felt manufacture or just a cheap voice over job.

I also love the fact that they give the dubs that all star voice cast treatment but the actors themselves really seem to get the material that they are working with and see their characters as 3 dimensional people with real motivations, ambitions and goals. Similar thing with Micheal Keaton and Kirsten Dunst for Porco Rosso and Kiki's Delivery Service respectively.

yes any other version that I've seen for sale elsewhere has dual audio …yes any other version that I've seen for sale elsewhere has dual audio track Japanese and English with option to have English subtitles.that's usually the norm.it is clearly written on the back.(for example the one son sale on amazon, etc).

thanks a lot
They really need to make a Studio Ghibli blu-ray boxset with all their movies included.

(for £19.99...)

That's certainly true for a lot of them, but Cowboy Bebop immediately comes to mind as a dub I'd rather watch over the original language.

I agree and prefer the english dubs for many of their movies but it is weird to leave out the original and not let you choose

the point is, original Japanese voices are part of the package and the …the point is, original Japanese voices are part of the package and the art.the effort and selection of the voice cast are all pieces of the whole product and selected by director, this applies to any movie or film product not just anime.but moe important in anime and animation in general.so by replacing those voices with other people's voice they are changing the artwork.expressions cannot be replicated, and obviously voices are different.no matter how good/bad the dub work is, it won't be the same thing and it won't be what the creator/director intended.so it's an altered version of what they meant to be.

I used to prefer the original audio. But the Disney recorded new dubs changed my mind. It made it a lot easier to introduce these movies to new folks. And the all star cast also helped there!
Also as I've got older I can't give the film the full attention all the way through so it's just an easy way to watch heresy I know
