Brother DCP-L8400CDN A4 Colour Multifunction Laser Printer £186.80 @ Printerland
First deal on this website. I hope this is going to help you.

Please note that printing to ANY Brother printer, from Android, will result in poor quality output (jagged text and geometric shapes). PDFs printed via Android are mostly unreadable, as text often becomes an illegible smudged mess, and graphics become artifact laden. It's a known issue, and Brother don't anticipate releasing remediatory firmware (and software update) within the next 18 months (from Jan 2016) at least.

This is from their T @ C's ... "This Brother UK Ltd (BUK) promotion is valid only on the above Qualifying Products which must be purchased from a Brother Authorised Dealer within the United Kingdom, details of which are available by telephoning 0333 777 4444." I actually rang and ask and they gave me an unambiguous No to amazon as a Brother Authorised Dealer

Interesting - they certainly qualified as a reseller in 2013 when I claimed cashback for my Brother laser printer. I'd agree about Amazon marketplace resellers, but Amazon themselves are normally OK as they supply UK stock.

Anyone reading this, please beware! Amazon are not an authorised Brother supplier and therefore you would not qualify for the cashback.

There was a toner trick mentioned in this brother deal. Might work on this printer too.

I use 90gsm Lyreco Premium paper, so it's not just the heavier stuff. Usually not an issue for the odd double-sided document though

One of the big things missed by most comments is that this comes with full 2000-image toners, which is worth quite a bit over the usual pathetic starter toners offered with cheap printers. Also comes with free 3 year on-site warranty (needs to be registered withing 28 days of purchase). As said by NoFinPhish, it does misfeed on duplexing on heavier (100gsm) paper, so be warned. Excellent build quality otherwise.

Makes you wonder when one Laser printer gets less than £10 knocked off it's voted a hot deal, this one gets £150 knocked off - around 50% and a 3 year on site warranty thrown in and it's stone cold ! Can anyone explain why ?

I thought this site was full of savvy people who could work out a decent deal ! Full set of toner - non OEM £55 and they only do 700 sheets, which means you need 3 to compare with the OKI - £165 Full set of Genuine Oki toners from the same supplier £151 Therefore the Oki is a much better deal than the Dell which is out of stock now anyway !

I have one of these at work. My company bought 3 recently and they were only about £120 each from memory, not sure where they were bought from. I was surprised to get a duplex printer for that price. I'm actually pretty happy with it, but the duplex printing is a bit hit-and-miss. Try printing out a ream of double-sided pages and it does occasionally miss-feed.

Interesting to see the "cold" votes, based on the potential to save a further few coppers at ebuyer/leo. For what it's worth, I've placed my order and the customer service thus far has been exceptional. When I originally saw their advert, it suggested a £40 cashback, which should have stated £30. When I raised this, they knocked a tenner off to make up the difference.

Yep, the cashback is already taken into account. Spoke to a sales rep on the phone earlier and he said it comes with the 2,000 page colour cartridges (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) and a 3,000page black cartridge. These are retail ones they sell on the site ( The high capacity cartridges are 8,000 pages. Hope it helps!

How does the cashback work?

where from pls?

After living with it a few weeks longer we've had to move it to the office store room - the ink particles were very smelly and causing headaches and nausea in t'staff!

No It's great in pretty much every way - easy to update the firmware, tons of ways to connect to it (Wifi, Ethernet, Google Drive, Dropbox, Facebook, Evernote, Google Cloud Print, AirPrint etc etc), good quality print (greys not fantastic but I had a higher DPI printer before that I was used to, and you wouldn't be printing photos to frame on this anyway - ideal office machine).

It is £200 but that is 1500 Colour prints at average coverage + 2.5K for black. Inkjets only do a couple of hundred per cartridge, and a lot less if you don't use it often as the ink drys up and it has to flood the head with ink to get it working again. Also toner is dry and waterproff and does not smudge unlike standard inks.

You can get a Dell 1250 for £74, a set of compatible toners will cost around £30.

It does seem to refer to this being a business printer a lot, also when claiming the money back one of the required fields is company name, not sure if they would validate your business name but as the terms and conditions say the payment will be to the organisation/company? risky for individuals. Great deal just not sure its for personal claimants.

Sensible price, voted hot. Alternatively buy a refurbished Laserjet 2200/2300DN or 4000/4050/4100N (N model has no duplexer) on eBay for less than £50. Generic ready to use toner cartridges cost £15 delivered and last for ~ 6,000 and 10,000pages respectively.

Sure it can be to individuals... it's not sold to only businesses?

CASHBACK DETAILS 1. Cash Back cheques for valid claims will be made payable to the organisation/ company on the form and will be dispatched by post to the respective claimants, as provided by them in their online form, within 28 days of a valid form and receipt being received. Invalid claimants will be notified by post, fax, email or phone within 7 working days of receipt of the claim. Wonder if this cashback will work for personal claimants?

£70 for a duplex laser is good, and without the complexity and low toner capacities of colour lasers.

Lexmark inklets aren't worth bothering with. A client of mine bought one of these, and I ended up setting it up for them. Very plasticky for what is supposed to be a small office printer, and had a couple of times where it would simply stop communicating with the computer. The banding in draft mode was terrible too, and very slow in normal print mode. They ended up replacing the head in their HP officejet (I can't remember the model off the top of my head), which has done 15k pages, and kept this as a backup. Ink cartridges are tiny too. Probably ok for home use, but nothing more.

Yes, I should note the Dell doesn't come with duplexing as standard, it's a cost extra. We didn't need it for our purposes. It all comes down to what you need it for. We needed scanning to network folders, fax, general photocopying with an auto document feeder, and the option to print the odd colour page now and then.

To be fair.. It does have a duplex..

Not claiming to be an expert in printers, not by any stretch, and I couldn't comment on whether the machine above is good value as I really don't know, but... having needed to purchase a colour laser for the office I decided on a Dell 3115CN for £299.99. It has copying, fax, scan to network, ethernet, usb, parallel connection options, and you can purchase refilled toners for £74 a colour for 8000 page high capacity cartridges, making cost of running approx 2.5p a colour page, and less than a penny per B&W page. Purchased it on eBay from the parent company of a well known ink re-fill supplier, and I can point you in the direction of the best value toners I can find if you are at all interested. Please message me and I'll send you the necessary links. I can say the 3115CN Dell is pretty good, it does much of what our other very expensive Ricoh copier does for a tiny fraction of the purchase price.

So does not sound like a good buy then, even at half price. Would you have any recommendations if your were looking for similar specs?

When you start buying toners for this lump of plastic, you`ll need a mortage. Cold.

So you get 50% less black and 33% less colour toner than the full price item? So I still think this could be the right deal for low volume printers... I am not even sure that the next cheapest ones availible on the net aren't also low toner ones?... Horses for courses I guess! hopefully maybe this deal is right for someone. As you say it is almost worth buying these deals and throwing away the lot when the toner runs out. Same as with inkjet printers and razor blades I guess!

Looking at £161 ex VAT for the Cyan, Magenta and Yellow tonners, which are 6k products and the black at £105 for 8k. - if anyone can find the toner's for around £100 each it may be worth while.. for example, a lot of the HP product toner life is around 10/11k for around the same money..... It looks a good deal at first, but long term it would be too expensive to run, there are cheaper machines at there to run to the same quality as this. Great machine for home use for low printing until the toner runs out, not the best deal for long term investment. You could always buy it... use it... and bin it.. Also.. the page per toner figures are averages for text / picture documents... so if you decide to print a lot of photos expect the toner life to decrease.

Looks a good deal... Would just have to work out the cost per print depending on the toner costs to see if it was worth while.. The machine gets shipped with 4k toners, which are half life products for the black tonner which is 8k and the colours are normally 6k.

At about 15,000 pages you will need new black, cyan, magenta and yellow drums which will cost you about £100 +P&P (nearly as much as the printer) At 30,000 pages you will need the drums again plus a £50 fuser unit, so it would be cheaper to replace the printer at 30,000 pages than to replace the drums and fuser (it is marginal at 15,000 pages). Assuming you replace the drums at 15,000 pages and throw the printer away at 30,000 pages that is £114 + £6.50 (P&P) + £100 + £6.50 (P&P) = £227 + VAT in hardware (not including toner) to print 30,000 pages, so it's not too bad there at under 1p a page, but that's before toner costs. Toners are quite small for this printer. I would expect the printer to be shipped with the smaller 1.5K page toners, so you will need at least 11 each of Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow refills or replacements for your 30,000 pages. If you buy the Oki ones at £59 each for a 2.5K page toner that would cost you about £2600 + VAT for your 30,000 pages which is about 10p a page for toner at 5% coverage, so not too bad. Of course if you are using more than 5% coverage then the toner costs go up a lot but if you use third party toners and refill kits then you can bring the price down a lot as well. Even so, a total of 11p a page (plus paper cost) for 5% coverage for hardware and manufacturers toners is a pretty good deal. Just be aware that if you do a lot more coverage that the number of pages will drop before you have to change those drums and the fuser - and that the cost of the hardware means that it's cheaper to buy a whole new printer than replace both fuser and drums at the same time.

I am quite sure that if you phone up and ask for it, you'll get it at the price. Give it a go! (and let us know!)

I cannot find anyway to get this deal. Not able to find any link to subscribe to newsletter.

we have the C3200n and it's excellent, non branded toners are cheap too

Just purchased this and arrived. According to the description it comes with full toner cartridges (i.e. 3000 black and 2000 CMY)... this had better be right ;-) unbeatable deal though.. you are actually cheaper to buy another printer if you need another set of cartridges lol

I have this printer, having bought it in June when it was a little more expensive than this. There was a £125 cashback running at the time and I can confirm that it arrived in my account without any difficulty. I have been very impressed with the output so far, both in terms of speed and quality. Some concern has been expressed about the cost of replacement toner. Yes, the cartridges are quite expensive but the prices quoted are for the high capacity versions e.g. 8000 pages for black. I think it is also worth pointing out that the printer comes with reasonably well filled toner cartridges which is fairly unusual these days.

It wasn't clear whether you thought those things were good points or bad points.

My point was to highlight the ongoing costs. Not everybody reads terms & conditions & may miss the deadline for cashback. Sorry for trying to be helpful. BFN, fp.

And your point is ... that this is a fantastic deal? a bad deal? The toner cartridges are mid-priced. The T&C's are not unreasonable. And the printer itself is dirt cheap with the cashback.

They seem to have dropped the £100 instant discount at the checkout (which was Ex VAT) ie £117.50. Just to confirm the actual amount I have paid prior to recieving Xerox voucher was £443.75+VAT = £521.41. I am awaiting the Cashback from Xerox - I'll try to confirm whether this will be Ex VAT.

Ditto, that's exactly what i was thinking, Xerox aren't offering £150 + VAT !?!?:whistling:

Surely those rebates are after VAT? And am I missing a coupon code for the £100 at the checkout? £534 + vat = £638 - £100 - £150 = £388?

£543.75 - £100.00 at checkout = £443.75 Less £150.00 Cashback = £293.75 + VAT = £345.16

I can't see how you get to this price? It's listed as £543.75 ex-VAT on the site, so with VAT and cashback it comes to £488. We have an Oki C3530 MFP (£520 with VAT and cashback) in our office and it's fantastic. Toner is £140 inc VAT for a set of 4, so considerably cheaper than the Xerox.

Just a note on cheap HP lasers.. I have one (the laserjet 2500), on which the paper feed rubbers haven't outlasted the included toner. I've run out of black (1500 page toner that came with it), and the whole lot is going in the bin in favour of a new printer as it's uneconomical to just replace the cartridges (about £150-160 for a set), and half the time it fails to take paper in on it's manual feed tray.

FYI: This qualifies for free delivery. The toner carts supplied are rated at 1,000 pages at 5% coverage - the standard carts are 2,500 pages at 5% coverage. Spec PDF:
