What did they use to ring?!?
Looool
This phone was plagued with bootloop issues, yes it wasn’t everyone, but it was a lot of people.
Good luck to anyone daft/brave enough to get one

I think this should have been buried alongside the blackberry 9300 they posted yesterday.
Hot if we have a timing machine otherwise no vote either way

Another G3 of course.
Must admit a great screen on these. Also £15 off if you join Which for £1

The g4 had the bootloop, not this one. The G5 has the GPS issue.

I thought that. Sadly, only on £200+ spend. 2.16% tcb though.

And their joke back
Had this phone and it was really nice. The screen to body ratio is really good and the screen is fantastic for the price.

I have just got the DWs old G2 to replace my xperia s, much faster

Of course having not wasted money on phones I have paid of my mortgage and will be able to retire 12 years early. Still stick with your new iClone / latest gen Samsung, their profits boost my pension pot.
I had one & really liked it. Great at the time, LG have long been underestimated. That said had issues with battery life. One down side.
Good phone, used it for a year and a half until end of last year.

I paid 100 for it in September 2016. At 80 I wouldn’t say this is a very good deal as there are now better alternatives. iPhone SE or a Xiaomi 5A or A1 (a few quid more but light and day) being the main contenders.

Nonetheless this is a decent phone for anyone in desperate need and can’t wait for shipping from China. The screen is 2k and decent, and the camera isn’t bad either.
Had a few of these back in the day. The 2GB RAM was crippling for the performance of this device. I’m not sure if it was ever fixed, since other devices with 2GB RAM worked fine, and I’m told the 3GB/32GB variant performed much better.

Faux metal plastic was pretty awful in the hand - felt chintzy and cheap and scratched if you so much as farted in the same room. Also very prone to getting a crack along the top near the IR blaster and along the bottom next to the mic.

Screen was high res but very dim and exhibited a weird fuzziness.

No sure I’d buy this even as a spare - I think the Nokia 3 is probably a safer bet. The only good thing about this in 2018 is the high res screen but even that doesn’t come without caveats as it was very much as first gen display of its type.

Hot diggity damn, I wish I was as cool as you are!
I’m sure the £6,000 you’ve saved over 10 years has given you the chance to pay for a house and 30 years of income for your pension...

i dont care. i had a g3 for like 3 years till the sim port suddenly stopped working.. i have had a one plus 2 and a samsung s7 edge since... to this day i still miss my g3.. it was the best phone i ever owned.. the display is ridiculously good.
This should get voted cold for this price! G4s are cheaper on eBay from sellers and appliance direct are no better.
P.s don't buy these if they have the bootloop like the g4
I had a 2gb G3 and my god, it was so laggy!! I really liked the phone but could not deal with how slow it responded.
I'd buy a Xiaomi over a refurbished G3.
I've got mine still in mint condition. Only issue is it doesn't read SIM cards. I pulled too many of the prongs out. Is that easy to replace?
Got a G2 and that is getting very slow now but good price for G3, tempted but not sure it's a big enough jump for me.

Heat anyway.
I just resurrected my G3 the other day and put official Lineage OS - Nougat on it. It runs like a dream, has decent battery life and camera is pretty good as well. As others have said the size is great and it feels good in the hand, however I wouldn't buy a 16Gb model.

It'll be soldered to the mainboard, so no.

Shame. Was offered a tenner for it from mobile phone recycling. Probably just use it as a media player. If I remember it had HDMI out? Even my OnePlus 5t doesn't have that.
just got the G4 32GB (euro version, refurbished) for £69.77 from AliExpress.
stay away with G3...

I retired 10 years ago at 39.

And I can afford a new phone. Thank you.

I had one of these and loved it however it ended up bricking itself. Software issue. Couldn’t be fixed
Decent price for a decent smartphone, thanks OP!

I had this phone for 3 years and all i can say is when it worked was great. However, everyone i knew who had this phone had reliability issues. This phone died on me twice (sent it off for repairs under warranty but came back with same issues. A lot of the time i wanted to take a picture it would turn off and i had to take the battery out to restart it. This phone is just trouble, I'd stay well away.
I bought a reconditioned LG G3 last year. It is still pretty good but it eats up the battery faster than your mum at a buffet and the brightness or lack of it means it will be a bit of pain in the rear to read from in bright lighting conditions. The 13 Megapixel camera does the job for photos and 2.1 MP front camera is okay if you are feeling a bit vain.

The picture quality is fantastic at over 500ppi if I recall correctly, One of the cheaper phones you can buy that has the VR video option for YouTube available and built in on the YouTube app, Micro SD card slot means you can store a lot of media making the phone a very capable music player.

The screen is huge even for a 'phablet' and whilst my Samsung Galaxy S3 struggles to now open google chrome and run anything worthwhile. The LG G3 is still a very fast, very responsive.

A reconditioned older flagship phone can be found at a cheaper price than a current entry level to mid tier smartphone and combined with a SIM only package you can have yourself a fantastic phone from £5 to £10 a month and not get locked in to 24 month contract if you choose a 30 day rolling SIM only contract

I've had two of these. They both got a bootloop. Great phone but lots of issues with battery and bootloops
