Stone cold... I bought one of these last year, and took it on a family holiday to Germany. The weather was rather poor and the tent was leaking all over the place. We had to cover the tent strategically in plastic sheets to keep the stuff dry

Very poor quality IMHO.

It has only a 1200mm hydrostatic head. Anything more than a shower and you have had it. The higher the number the better, try for a 3000 if you can, but if not a 2000 is better than this.

This might be ok if you go camping in the med.

Nice one was looking for a tent to take with when i go away in August!, Might be a bit too big for the site though, Does anybody know how big the tent is when packed away, I will need it to fit on a hiking rucksack and get through airport check-in

I bought this tent nearly four years ago from Argos, and have used it in Aviemore. It’s withstood some pretty heavy rain storms and I’ve never had a problem. Good tent i paid around about £49 for it:thumbsup:

This isnt in stock anywhere near me (in fact no where at all!)

I am looking for a tent, read all the reviews then tried to reserve and its out of stock everywhere! So cold from me. If anyone can find stock anywhere please let me know!

Op - can only get quidco on home delivery. Its out of stock. Where have you found lots of stock????

Lots of stock was probably found when this was posted 3 weeks 4 days ago:whistling:

Definatly hot, i just got back from download music festival and used this tent, we had 3 people and there was so much room we didn't know what to do with it! Would do 4 people perfectly any more and it would get a tad crowded.
It survived the rain great, no leaks at all! Would definatly recommend

Spot on. I'd personally go for a 5000 next time with nice metal poles and a fully sealed ground sheet. This sort of tent is a false economy.

camping is ok but i dont think its much cheaper than a budget hotel...stayed in a tent last w/e and weather was fine...slight shower but otherwise hot....its ok but when you look the cost of the equipment, decent sized average tent not his garbage (a friend bought a vango 6 man tent for £270), pitch cost then it isnt that cheap...as for being close to nature...what? in a muddy field dont make me laugh

this one has a seperate ground sheet....avoid

thats rubbish, so you picth up the inner first.....durr..what if its raining....magic!!

ok some people are saying this is a great tent as it withstands heavy rain and some say its leaks like an over filled nappy .....

what is it to be?? good or bad?

Well it is probably both to be honest.

As with most cheap things the quality control tends to be poor. So some people get a good one and it is a real bargain where as others get one that is not so well made and have problems.

So really I would say it is the sort of thing that you would buy and try and perhaps not use it in harsh conditions.

One thing that is worth pointing out is that many tents these days are not watertight until they have been wet ! Sounds crazy I know but put the tent up in the garden and spray it with the hose until it is wet all over then leave to dry. The material will shrink as it dries making it watertight, many people take a new tent out and it leaks on the first rain and they conclude the tent is rubbish, but bizarrely the next time the tent is used it is fine.

We have had a Pro Action Argos tent for a few years and it has been fine. The stupid thing though is that you have to put the inner tent up first ! not suitable for putting up in the rain.

First of all,1200HH is NOT enough for our climate,
You DO NOT need to wet them first before they are water tight(that only applies to canvas and polycotton tents). That is because the weave of the material is open when new and a good soaking tightens the fabric up and makes it water tight.
Buying these cheap tents is the main reason why people only go camping once, the tent leaks and everyone is p****d off and vow ,never again.
If you want to start camping buy a tent with a good brand reputation with an absolute minimum 2000HH,the better ones have 5000HH.,Outwell,Vango,Khyam.Gelert to name a few.

That's a mistake with Amazon's listing - the range is 6000: coleman.eu/p-2…spx

agreed buy a reasonable tent....friend had a vango 6 man tent...it was massive and you stand up in it...cost him about £270 but worth it as it looked well made, unlike the cheap tents that you could spot a mile off
