Beats Apple hands down, crappy I-pod.

i have a monster tent like this , so big i could drive the car into into it
good - spacious for kids when raining etc
bad - weighs a tonne, hard to put up/take down, cold

good deal, voted hot

just a warning, despite all the fancy "hydrostatic head " info etc. our Argos tent was the poorest quality I have ever seen. It blew down and the pole snapped, and it wasn't even blustery (and yes it was pegged in right). personally think you can get better quality tents for this price, but I do know why it is "hot" as it is a good price for this size tent, and half the original price so not having a go at the poster, just letting you know about our poor quality argos tent!

Never buy tents from places like Argos or supermarkets eg tesco... They are always the worst quality you can probably buy and if its the first tent you've ever bought and the first time you've been camping (being the credit crunch and all..) you will be put off because of the bad experience you had with the tent you bought in good faith.

If you want a nice big tent for the whole family you're best bet is somewhere like yeomans outdoors that specialises in outdoor equipment. You will be paying more than you would be from argos but you are paying for quality. What would you rather have, a tent from argos, tesco, asda etc that will last you a matter of weeks or one from a real camping store/company that will last you a good few years.

Voted cold since it's crap quality.

But Yeomans charge £379 upwards for a 10 person tent. That's some price increase. And not really comparable.

And for the record, the last two tents I've bought have been from Argos, and both served me well.

the reviews on the Argos site seem to say its ok.. scored 4 out of 5 in most cases.

can anyone recommend a decent tent for 6 people with at least 2 bedrooms, and one large living area?

So far have found the Outwell Nevada M, but looking for other contenders.

All assistance appreciated!

Thank you all !

I can reccommend the GELERT MERIDIAN 10 , it's a 10 person tent 4 large bedrooms and a big living space . use 1 bedroom as a dumping ground . Ive had this tent for a couple of years now its easy to put up / take down and packs into 2 holdalls.

We have a Vango Diablo 900 - sleeps 9, 3 bedrooms, and it's great. They do a 600 with 2 bedrooms, sleeping 6, too. If you needed to, another 2 or 3 could sleep in the main area too.

Is it not spacious when it's sunny? :whistling:

PS: Voting is normally based on Price, not weight!

Me and my friend both bought a 12 man tent from argos a while back (£120 each) and they both lasted very well! The only problem I had with my tent (the one that wasn't taken good care of) was that a zip broke, and it was a heavy beast to drag over the mud at festivals :-p

These tents are very poor. I made the mistake of buying one 2 years ago .

it was so bad we had to cut short our trip as most of it was missing - I don't just mean pegs - I mean the actual loops to put the pegs through!! Took it straight back - and to be fair they just refunded without checking (may tell you something).

I recommend Blacks own brand tents. The guy in the store told me that they are made by North Face. I have one and its the sturdiest tent I've had.

I know this is not really big enough for six people but for anyone else, I would like to recommend this:
halfords.com/web…nfo

Should be £199.99 but is now £119.99. Usually drops down to £99.99 in the summer. We have had one for the past two Glastonburys and it is everything you need for a decent nights sleep. Plus it comes in a bag...with wheels.

Two Bedrooms, a lounge area, two double blow-up matresses (these cover the entire floor of each bedroom - very comfy) and four sleeping bags.

Before any comments, I am aware that this is not the best tent or that the sleeping bags are not the thickest but this is an ideal starter set and decent value for money. I have found it to be sturdy and dry.

We're looking to house 2 maybe 3 people for a week at Benicassim but since we're flying the tent must fit in check-in luggage. The price seems right to just leave it there if the hassle of repacking it isn't appealing.Alternatively:http://www.tentastic.co.uk/acatalog/info_22.htmlas something we might actually bring back?(I'm aware they're not going to be great quality)Any input would be greatly appreciated !

Th bag isn't what I'd consider to be small. Remember, you put everythign in it. I'd say 50cm*50cm*80cm.
