I would lump this into the "borderline adware snake oil" software category. I have not used this program but the thought of a disk cleaner with in app purchases sets off huge alarm bells.

DON'T BOTHER

Use the free OnyX app instead:

titanium-software.fr/en/…tml

Be sure to download the correct version for the edition of macOS you are using. I HAVE used this and have had success clearing up space and fixing issues with it.

And it's 100% free.

Not sure what they are but it does say subscription after 30 days so may have to bin
Be careful what you end up deleting with these programs

It appears the subscription/IAP is simply so it can monitor when your free space gets low and send you an email alert. Seems a silly idea, and is obviously one of those subs the developers hope you forget about and it auto renews... As yet the program hasn't actively mentioned or nagged anything about the possible subscription.

Theres plenty of apps that all do the same, I also use Disk Cleaner (non pro) for free and that deletes the same stuff. Most of these rely on flashy marketing to get you to upgrade or download their other paid apps.

As another user has put there is a free Onyx program that does the same, and of course most of these things you can do yourself for free (empty/clear browser, empty trash bin etc...)

Sometimes these apps are useful for finding large files you have forgotten, but really the other scary things like "clearing app caches" are hardly worth it, as when you clear them they will rebuild again as soon as you use your apps. If you're always running that low on space you need to delete things like this then you probably need to rethink upgrading your storage space in the long run! :-)

I have managed to clear over 90GB using this. However when I go to 'about this mac' 'storage' I have about 40GB of other files. It won't let me click to see what these files are and the disk cleaner hasn't seemed to pick it up either... Any help?

Have you rebooted since you cleared it?

The other files must be just files that the computer can’t categorise and ones that you probably use.
If you use this crap for cleaning Mac- you must go to school and start learning about pc's from 0.
Macs never needs any cleaner or tuner, you can do easily without any such program, which can make more harm than good.

Using Mac OS for 11 years now and never ever needed any cleaning software. ..
Not needed, OS X manages itself ok enough, stuff you delete with this pap is just junk that will collect again, ie cookies or important OS X files. You’d be better off finding duplicates of your own files or delete your own junk
Doest show free to me. Show £7.99
Not free. £7.99 and with in-app purchases! Sounds like a real scam toi me.
TEMPORARILY free, as at 30th May.
