This looks like an easier way to give yourself USB ports on your plug sockets and probably a bit cheaper buying a USB faceplate, plus you gain a socket. Seems to be win/win to me.

Genius

it's not very bonny....

Worth spending an extra £2 to not annoy the misses.

these are rubbish. My sockes are skirting height and too low to plug this in.

How can you call these rubbish because your sockets are in the skirting, any house built in last 20+ years will have high enough sockets

They're rubbish because of YOUR skirting?

Genius.

The point of these I suppose is to give more sockets to those single sockets around the house but the added USB is a bonus.

You have to pay £2.50 handling on that one as it's less than £5 before VAT

Went to £8,40 after handling charge and vat

Well add 200 cable ties and you get the plug and 200 cable ties for £6.05!!!

I'm surprised there hasn't been the mandatory "this is guaranteed to blow your house up!" comment yet.

Heat added.

It states 2.1A total output for the USB sockets. Does it supply 2.1A if only one USB socket is in use or each socket gives a max output of 1.05A?

Do these things exist which can give ~ 2A to each USB when both are in use?

Thanks

It's a shared 2.1A not Volts. it will always be 5V.

the 2.1A usually means your device will charge quicker. plug 2 devices in could slow down the charge rate.

Pull your sockes up then

This sort would probably fit, but it is only 1Amp and 1 mains socket:- cpc.farnell.com/mas…251

Oops meant to say amps. One of those situations where you are thinking something but say/do something else! I've now edited my previous comment.

Possibly, although I did purchase a double socket faceplate with 3.1A (shared between a pair of USB ports) yesterday.

From CPC, that's unlikely, but I have to add my mandatory "there is no efficiency rating" comment.

Can you elaborate - agree that seems to be a bit of histeria around these non branded but given leaving on 24x7 I would prob buy a better one for some spots in the house

Turn your faceplates upside down then

I can't even be bothered to read the comments. I know someone is going to say it isn't CE certified, USB underpowered, dangerous and you can get cheaper sockets that you have to wire in.

In fact I'm not sure why I bothered even commenting on a deal i am not interested in.

Oh no! I think I am infected with the disease of HUKD......

Off to find more things that I have no interest in and can't contribute anything constructive to Nom Nom TVAT!!!

Oh you won't notice the difference in your electricity bills, but efficiency ratings are constantly being improved for stand-alone chargers so I don't understand why they don't apply to these too.

Oh - I thought you were refering to something that made them safer - not to do with how much to run!
