Sorry to jump on your thread op but does anybody know anything about these ptc heaters like this one -

cpc.farnell.com/unb…742?

Same with no timer for £12.90 if its any use to anyone...

Secondary heating is often a liability with regards to fire safety though so take care!

I would second that opinion, especially if your home hasn't been rewired since (as many haven't since the seventies/eighties), just make sure you don't have one running in each room at full pelt on one electrical ring and you should be fine.

I have one - has lasted 3 winters.
But very light and keep away from kids and pets.
But brilliant on lowest setting for over night in the bedroom

Will buy again when it pops

At what setting do you use ? 45p equates to less than 4KW of input when the heater is a 2KW one.

That would still be 6KW of power and would cost more than 45p.
I would like to get one but not sure if I go for the one with Blower or without.

the timer makes an awful quirky sound, anything than can be done about that? I mean the actual clock / timer thing when its just running.
