If you must have a 2.5kW radiator from Amazon (thought it was Prime but it's "in stock in 1-2 days"), £39.99 - "Highlands" brand, but there are also other brands with the same design - Warmlite, Benross, Fine Elements, Pifco, Logik (Currys), Quest, Silentnight, Marko, Daewoo, Status etc, so it's likely a brand-slap-situation amazon.co.uk/Hig…NUO
2846261.jpgEdit: Here's a few on Amazon, with a timer:

1.5kW with timer £36.90 amazon.co.uk/Por…5Z3

2kW with timer £39.89 amazon.co.uk/ULT…F8G

2.5kW with timer £48.46 amazon.co.uk/Kin…YVU

What are these like?

Amazon item has only one review, which is a bad one. I'm in the market for one of these.

I purchased the Vax ones that were posted on here the other day they are amazing.

NmarieC - I'm so jel! I realised on Tuesday I needed one of these in my life and by then it had expired. It's all singing and dancing. The timer is the dealbreaker, definitely holding out for it to come back on offer.

Tesco sell their own brand fine elements, £30 and come with 1 year Tesco warranty. They are well worth the money, even cheaper if you can use some coupon. I had 8 off on 40 coupon from them, worked out cheaper with my some grocery shopping.

what kind of oil do these run on and where do you buy it and how economical is it.

They have non-refillable oil inside which is heated by electricity. 100% of the electrical energy they used is turned into heat. Electrical energy costs about 3-4x what mains gas costs though.

This deal is a pretty average price, I'd rather get something like this for less cash: hotukdeals.com/dea…915

I nearly bought the £23, 1.5kW B&Q one last night (Friday) - but the one-day delivery said it wasn't coming till Sunday, even though it was before the 7pm cut-off time - my nearest B&Q is about three miles away, so I trudged to Morrisons ten minutes away and bought a 1.5kW for £30, carried home under my arm - not a great price really.

Naturally these will all be at knockdown prices once the weather gets warmer again

Too late for me now, but here's a Status 2kW non-timer option at Amazon Warehouse, Used - Very Good for £18.89 amazon.co.uk/Sta…C34

Great price but always comments about the efficiency of these

Louiselouse, thanks for all the links. Bought the one I missed out on at the Vax Outlet on ebay. Someone posted a Vax store deal here at 19.99. - now expired - then someone else noted it was on the ebay outlet store. Scrolled through and saw the 2.5kw with TIMER. 5% Quidco too. Happy Days.

I got my heating fixed today so my 1.5kW one I bought from Morrisons is going in a cupboard. It kept the place comfortable but nowhere near as warm as central heating I got the Vax irons as well last night
