Possibly the most underrated piece of fitness equipment ever. Works wonders for recovery, warm-ups, cool downs and most importantly for those who suffer from lower back problems or anterior pelvic tilt you should get one of these to loosen up all those tight hip flexors, glutes etc.
how do you use it?
You roll the particular muscle on it. Hard to explain. Have a look online
They feel like torture the first time you use them but stick with it. you roll a muscle group such as your back over it. when you feel a painful knot you keep pressure on it for 30seconds then gently rock off the knot. which gets overworked muscles to relax in a similar way to a sports massage
how firm is this one? been after one for a while for crazy tight calves, but not convinced this one will be solid enough to break them down
humadoon

Wondering the same thing myself.

you roll your muscle on it. google explains better but for example sit on floor, place under calf (/other muscle) place body weight on roller (push up with hands) and roll
Plenty of videos on YouTube demonstrating how to use a foam roller.
I have been thinking about getting one for my really tight calves and lower back, reserved one for pick up later... will give it a go. Thanks op
comes with instructions
Worked wonders on my shoulder. Better off having my own instead of using the gym's
I got one of these s few months ago and it's knackered already. It has a denser core inside a softer foam outer and they have detached. The outer is also badly dented from contact with my legs and it's about ready for the bin.
They are good in principal, just not this one.
skiddlydiddly

that doesn't sound good! had mine for 8/9 months now and its still perfect. It might have a weight limit, so it could be worth looking into a high density foam roller for yourself?
Maybe. I'm only around 80kg though.
