Great price for cast. Although 35kg isn't much weight.

Ideal for more advanced weightlifters

Yeah, of course it is (_;)

For one hand maybe as a warm up!

Better than the usual concrete-filled-plastic rubbish. It's certainly not a 20kg olympic bar though. Still, a decent price.

Do you even lift?

I'm pretty sure I bought this a few months ago for £30ish

still looking for a cheap weights set, the 20kg dumbbells used to be around £20-25, now they're £30-40... This might be a good alternative?

Here comes the "These way nothing I can lift 50kg dumbells" comments get your popcorn ready guys

Good for teenagers or those new to weightlifting and at least their cast iron not the cheaper weights.

Just a note for anyone looking to buy this.
The bars weight are included in the 35KG so you don't actually get 35KGs of dumbell which you can bench press.
Way too many small light disks ie. 4x0.5kg 8x1.25 ???
The actual diameter of the bar was too small. Basically I thought even though it comes with spinning locks (a bit of a pain), I thought I'd buy springs later myself. But it's impossible to find springs small enough to grip onto the bar. Also the spinning locks come undone after each go.
Following with the previous problem the hole for the disks being small means I couldn't use them on my friends more advanced bar as his was thicker.

kinda annoying that they only give 2 5kgs...

If I get these will I start waxing, tanning and getting biro scrawled all over me? Or is that all extra? I know I have to do nothing to my legs to get that awesome top-heavy look.

If anyone really is considering getting this, Homebase are also doing it at the same price.

Factor in the 15% Off Everything This Weekend offer and it's not so bad.

What's wrong with the cheaper plastics ones? A weight is a weight, is it not?

well the plastic ones take up more room, which makes a difference when you're loading up on the bar

good price
bizarre weight selection

Advanced lifter ... I'd need about 8 of these

Way too heavy for me, I can barely lift 5kg!!

Damm I can't even deadlift this....

Yeah that's a good point. I was just wondering, say if it was possible to fit 2x10kg plastic weight plate discs on one side of a dumbell, how many would you be able to fit on it if the weight plate discs were cast iron instead of plastic?

vinyl is about twice the width of iron but it can vary i guess
the other factor is the diamter of them, even though they are already twice as wide they are also larger diameter.
can make range of motion of dumbells limited

i assume you mean barbells though, the ends vary in length so can vary
for bench press most will manage with vinyl but for deads etc probably not

"will take your home weight training to the next level". What level were you on before?

I think your mean "weigh" not "way" But to be fair I think if you check polls around the web guys and girls of all ages do lift more than this if your into lifting weights which is why you would buy them?

Per cubic m steel weighs 78.5kg and concrete weighs 25kg. So it's 3 times the size for an equivalent vinyl weight.

Uh no. Cubic metre of steel is more like 7.85 tonnes.

But your ratio is right and the point stands.
