I'd think they'll be okay, not too sure about the groom though, are you going to knock him out at the alter?

lol, good shout!

These are perfect for toning your arms, use the light weights and do high number of reps, don't use the heavy weights or you'll end up like popeye. :whistling:

Using light weights for more reps is a fallacy IMO.

i bought these the other day, very good set. top ones are completely pointless though, way too light for anything...

H+R

Depends on the number. If you do 20 to exhaustion (you can't lift any more no matter how hard you try) then it's good.

Just need to combine it with lower calorie consumption and decent protein intake (start liking chicken breast) and you'll tone like crazy.

They're a little on the light side though, even for a lady. My girlfriend isn't exactly a fitness fantatic but she'd need the 4.5kg set to train properly.

Thanks great deal. Shall be making a trip to argos tomorrow morning. H and R given.

These would make a cracking doorstop for somebody

I've never done strength training before, but i've been doing 50 reps on each arm using the 4.5kg ones twice a day, and my arms are sore

Is this for the ladies only?

yes perfect

very good price shame not heavier :-(

I picked this up for warming up before the big weights, very useful! Saves fiddling around with spinlock collars for ages. Just don't drop them or you'll have a fun little sandcastle to clean up.

Too light for me. When I was a lad, I ate four dozen eggs every morning to help me get large. Now that I've grown, I eat five dozen eggs, so I'm roughly the size of a barge.

Voted cold, far too light. Even doing 50 reps with these is a waste of time.

Using light weights for toning is a complete myth which hampers people's progress.

Muscles only get bigger or smaller. They don't somehow magically change into a more desireable shape when you exercise them with light weights. You tone your body by dropping your body fat percentage.

As such, these dumbells are cold from me. A gym membership costs £25 a month and will do your body a great deal more good than these tiny spaghetti arm dumbells.

You voted cold because they are too light ? Not because you thought the price wasnt a good deal ? lol.

Regardless if they are suitable or not for you, its still a hot deal. Can you find them cheaper elsewhere ?

Another one. lol Your voting cold because the gym will be better ?

For the love of god, someone tell these people what a deal means.

Your logic would work great when applied to body functions.

I'm comparing them to the dumbells at the gym? Buying a piece of **** from a homeless guy would be a hotter UK deal than buying these.

No offence but you are going to better off doing press ups and it's many variations than wasting money on these. I think everyone has to start somewhere but trust me you'll be better off just learning some basic bodyweight exercises to get in shape. And that whole toning thing has already been covered so I won't start on that. One thing I will pick up on that someone said, and that is about lifting big weights making you big, lifting big weights will not make you big unless you are eating enough calories.

Yeap good deal for home use as unlike metal weights don't damage skirtings and furniture etc and these are more designed for women really!

Hot deal if your happy with the weight these weights, just too light for me. I want at least 20kg as a starter with more heavier ones in the pack.

I agree with someone posting you can just do pressups for what these can do...

Voted hot - even though not much use to me. As I would prefer doing press-ups using my own body weight!

I agree for light weight they are perfected, and a good price. I got feeling that popeye and he's freinds would have something to say about, your negative remark about him.

Dam discrimination, if you ask me!.

Would be too light for most men. Not much you can do with a 4.5kg
