Thanks for the comment! I've added that info to the description. Was an oversight on my part

Got one - very good - heat added

How does this compare to a technics 1210 mk2

Does anyone have an opinion on this? I'm looking for a turntable. Would like to play 45/33's but from what I read this would need manual belt change to play each? Seems a bit pointless.

It sounds a pain, but in reality, very easy to do...

I've had a Pro-ject Debut for about 20 years. The belt change just involves lifting the platter and re-siting the belt around another part of the motor spindle. It takes less than 10 seconds from end to end.
There's a 30 second vid here youtu.be/ePq…KLw.

One thing to bear in mind is that you'll need a phono stage if your amp hasn't got one built in.

It's a good deck, and really good for the price. I have an RP-II, the speed change mechanism is basically the same and just involves moving the belt from one notch to another, I wouldn't let that put you off.

Could this be hooked up to my Sonos play 5?

Nope, you would need to buy a phono stage to put in between the turntable and the Sonus Play as the Sonus Play can only take line level inputs.

I know turntables didn't used to have pre amps, but to give it any kind of portability it's a deal breaker for me

Whats the Marantz they have for £99 like in comparison ?

Fair enough, I can understand you wanting to have a portable turntable, but many turntables ought not to be moved without partial disassembly in case of damaging any parts. Turntables like this also require finely tuned setup which would become tiresome after a few times (balancing the arm correctly by adjusting the counterweight, hooking up antiskating weight, securing rotating plate, putting on drive belt, etc.)

It dosen't.
1210s are built to take serious abuse and parts cheap and easy to get hold of.

I've a 3rd hand pair from 1998. Need a new target light on one and platter bearings could do with being replaced but still play great.
