These are quite a neat idea - I haven't had the need to use mine in anger yet but for the price I think they're worth having. The ratchet spanners alone would cost nearly as much.

Only bad thing is technically Halfords should not replace under their lifetime guarantee if the ratchet breaks, although I have heard one or two stores do. If you use this more like a breaker bar then the ratchet is likely to break. Other downside is imperial sockets, I have never found a use for one.

Regardless this is a rather tempting deal. If the spanners had the flexi head thing I'd buy them tomorrow.

There's a flexible head set for £30 halfords.com/web…Pz1

I know it's only 5 spanners, but covers 10 sizes.....

I'm not sure how they deal with these types of ratchets wrt the warranty - with normal ratchets they don't replace them as you can replace the moving parts of the ratchet for about £5. Whether those fit in this I'm not sure, I'll try and remember to have a look tomorrow.
For what it's worth, I've never found the flex head ratchets much more useful than the straight ones. They're pretty awkward to apply torque to if they're not straight.

Draper do a vortex set which is a lot better then these and more comprehensive ,however they cost a bit more.

Oh and don't forget quidco for a few percent, put your card details in on the quidco site and pay with that card

They've been this price for a while now, they were down to 29.75 during the 15% off deal a week or so back.

I wonder if there's any trade card discount on top?

Not sure if you mean quality or value for money but I've used a set of the ratchet rings for about 10 years now and i find them very good i also bought the socket set about 4 years ago and i use the 13mm & 16mm ones virtually every day with no problems at all, like most ratchets and rings if you look after them and keep them oiled they will last a lot longer... that said i'd pick a standard set of sockets if i was undoing the likes of wheel nuts a lot ... but then again a 3/8 size ratchet is not what you would use anyway on big items so well torqued if you had any sense

Thanks. Just ordered one.
Did anyone find out if the ratchets are covered by their guarantee?

Quality and a bigger range of sizes. However like i said they do cost more, ultimately it depends on what size you need!

BIG BAD BILL
