ProAction A105Q Washing Machine £89.99!!!! @ Clearance Bargains (Argos)

Found 16th Jan 2014
I was in Clearance Bargains in Corby earlier today picking up a cheap fridge freezer, as our 18 year one is just about done! We paid £129 for a Bush Fridge freezer, but, the deal I saw was for these washing machines.
I thought they were cheap, so I've done a bit of research and found them still available in Argos - this is where the link goes to - for £149.99 (reduced from £169.99)

I saw the price on a red Crazy Price label on top of the machine and thought that's not bad. The reviews on Argos site give an average of 4.4/5 so if you're on a budget, it's not that bad!!

Speaking to one of the staff, there are 2 other stores, 1 in Walsall, other is in Stanley, or Darlington, they weren't sure!
They may have the same offer on, don't know?

is there a catalogue number for this machine thanks

BEWARE - This is the third name they have given this brand. They called it Haus first, when I bought one of the dishwashers. It worked great but after about 15 months the on / off button wouldnt work at all. I couldn't find my paperwork so could do nothing about it, and googling "Haus" brought nothing up. By that time a couple of yrs back they had changed the name and I see now they've rebadged (think that's the word?!) them again. If these appliances were reliable I don't think they'd change the name every two yrs or so.

Also you might find that big electrical in Corby are normally refurbished as in someone took it back to argos and they fixed it and re sell from clearance bargains. Check for refurbished stickers to be sure. I have had two TV's from there and one is perfect with no issues which was in it's origional box but had obviously been opened before and the second was completely broken although tgis one was in a generic brown box so I guess it can be a bit pot luck as to the new-ness of them.

Can't imagine parts are easy to source for this so if there is any sort of extended warranty available it might be worth considering. Lack of available parts is extra bargaining power if you had to take Argos to the small claims court if this failed shortly after warranty.

Chinese rubbish.

You have a source for that?

I'm sure many are made on Poland, Russia, turkey, Romania. Never heard of the Italians making any in significant amount

2nd largest producer in the world...hyowever figures are form 2005 opn this article!

When researching buying for a new washer last year I discovered that washing machines have a minimum number of washes over the life of the machine set by the EU. It was around the 1100 mark. This is the reason that 2 identical washers can have vastly different life spans, mine is on 3 times every 2 days = 547 washes pa, I buy a new one every 2 years.

Many washes, not just cheaper end ones, no longer have tubs that can be replaced which then means that if the bearings fail it is not economically viable to replace a £10 part, new tub and bearings £200 + fitting + VAT! Look up 'sealed tubs', part of the reason was to comply with EU regulations on recycling and environmental costs.

I ended up with a cheap £199 (on offer) Logik from Currys and then found it did not have a sealed tub and the parts are available from Partsmaster dirt cheap, happy days.

Turkey has become a huge producer of electrical goods thanks to inward investment from many foreign owned company's.

Title missing a couple exclamation marks. Please amend

Popped in yesterday to look around, no washing machines left!!
Apparantly all gone by Friday lunchtime oO

If you want a telly though, hundreds of them! And some nice kids bikes too?

Spoke to a lovely girl, there is a new store in Darlington that opened just before Chrimbo so that makes it 4 shops.

You are all wrong regarding country of manufacture .
This machine is made in Izmir. , Turkey by Vestel. Vestel are one of the leading OEM laundry manufacturers in the world . All your moaning and whining about quality is quite honestly , laughable .
This is a machine that is made to sell al sub. £ 200 , do get a grip on reality , it ain't gonna last forever .
If you want a machine to last for 5 or 6 years , spend £ 700 odd on a Miele , if not be realistic in your expectations .
