Just bought this for the doggle in my life. Thanks to Tagatose from MSE for this forums.moneysavingexpert.com/sho…=37
See Post #1 for a Youtube vid, instructing how to safely cut your dog's nails - Post #2 has a link and code to buy their Pet Brush for £3.48.

Please use code DKWQB6CY to take the price from £9.99 to £3. The images suggest the Nail Clippers come with a Bonus Nail File as well.

Reviews: amazon.co.uk/Pro…ent

I'm assuming non-Prime adds £3.99 P&P, I seem to have inadvertently started the month Prime trial on my non-Prime account and can't tell if they charge you postage (argh).

Top banana.
Been looking for one of these smoking hot.

An alternative method is to use a dremel. The dog lets you know if you're getting too close to the quick. Also can use it for other purposes, like grinding down the family talons and other diy jobs. Voted hot.
Many thanks for your post have ordered both items

Sounds vicious tbh.

The Dremel option is an idea, though I think some dogs would be freaked out by it...depends on the dog's temperament, maybe.

The £3 Wilko Pet Clippers wilko.com/dog…258 look quite different to these (not sure why you didn't add a link) - from reviews, they're for smaller animals and easily broken? So it's not a fair comparison - you're suggesting the same would happen with these Amazon clippers?

No user experience of the DakPets trimmers yet, but the Amazon feedback looks good - and these are for Medium/Large dogs - will report back if there's any issues.

Someone Expired this, but I still see the Promo showing on the link(s). The Pet Brush (which I didn't buy) still works, but I bought the Clippers and can't test it again, as you can only buy one per account.

Edit: Just tried them on another account, and they still work. I even took screen grabs of the promos two posts above this one, so not sure why I'm getting Expired comments?33093141-M70pz.jpg

My vet gets angry with people who cut their dogs claws, because there are nerves in the root of the claw. Regular walking is plenty to keep their claws short.

That's why I added the Youtube link, as it shows you how to avoid the nerve/the quick (I'm guessing you didn't watch it)?

Sometimes dog claws get split or uncomfortable and need trimming. I assume your vet is angry with people willfully or unknowingly hurting their animals, rather than his thoughts on grooming?

Thanks louiselouise for the in-depth post & u tube link, much appreciated. Ordered both items. New cavapoo puppy joining our household tomorrow, so will put items away to use on him in the future. Heat added.

It would say depends on the breed of dog and how fast their claws grow and if they walk allot on paths or grass etc.
