Will Aid is a charity Will making scheme which raises funds for people in need here and around the world. The scheme is run by 9 leading charities and solicitors firms throughout the UK.

Will Aid offers you the opportunity to have your Will professionally drawn up by a solicitor, but instead of paying their usual fee you can make a donation to help some of the UK's best loved charities. This is a fantastic way to get your affairs in order and at the same time help many thousands of people in need.

The Next Campaign will be in November 2008

A slight wait of only a year :-) but if your planning on doing one soon it might be worth it.

It recommends a donation of £75 (don't know if this is cheap or not as i haven't got one ) but i'm sure you can donate as little or as much as you wish.

Yes i think so, if you browse around the links on the site you can download useful info on preparations for making one as well.

just had one done at solicitors cost in total £83.75. a whilw ago there was a campaign where you could get your will done at participating solicitors for a tenner

Do ensure you have a will.

Don't reply on the Will packs sold by WH Smiths and others. These cause problems.
If you don't want to use a solicitor buy the 'Which' guide:
amazon.co.uk/Whi…8-1

For most people careful reading of this will ensure no problems for your family. Beware of wills held by solicitors - especially if they are executors - your heirs will end up paying a high cost.

Very true........... But in my books the people with an outlook on life, who say things like "why save up you might get run over by a bus tomorrow" etc, generally are the people with no savings or ambition.

So fingers crossed i'll last to a ripe old age ;-)

Quite a bit of a generalisation really :whistling:

My point was, a will is very important and no point hanging around writing one, let alone another year. You never know when you can pop off and you're never too young.

I have savings, dreams and ambitions and I'm 22.... so that proves your theory wrong.

OP - this looks great - I'll be passing it on to everyone I know and consdier it myself

I thought having a will with a solicitor was the norm, I don't want to keep it at home as I don't think some of my close family will be too pleased with it's contents, where else can you keep it for safety?
