ideal for indoor crops

This looks like the same moulding as on my old Gardena timer, in which case not bad!
hot

so you leave the tap on all the time and this device controls when it flows down the pipe ? does this not then cause a pressure buildup and backlog at the joint causing a leak?

bought one last year and used it all summer to irrigate my greenhouse crop... worked great!

Banned

I love to water my Garden myself. It gives me a better relief. :-D

No more so than the joints on your washing machine, dishwasher, etc.

Hot Hot Hot!

this is cheap. just check out how much the water-relay thing would be direct from RS to know this is a deal !

:-( Purchased one of these today, but I will be returning it. Unfortunately, the instructions indicate that it can only be programmable for up to 7 days , so if you're planning to use it when you're on a fortnights holiday, it will not be suitable. The information on the box is not particularly clear in respect of this.
*PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS SO TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT*

Excellent price though; Don't forget the irrigation pipes/kit

Doesn't that mean that you can program it to turn on and off up to 7 days of the week.
IE, you tell it what to do every Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun but you could leave out Tue, Thu and Sat if you wish.

Don't you just basically program this to do its thing during the week and you leave it to it all summer long but basically turning it off if there is a week of torrential rain, and possibly doing some manual watering if there is a severe drought. ( yeah yeah I know, not likely to happen in Britain. )

:? Hmm, It really was not clear. You may be right. Can anyone else advise re this please? I suppose I should have given it a chance however, I did not want to risk it as if I had used it and found out that it operated for 7 days and shut down, I would not have been able to take it back for a refund etc. I assumed it was too good to be true...

Sounds like you've already taken it back.
I would bet money that this thing works how I described.
I'll be going Saturday 'cos I had other things to do today and couldn't make it.
Hope they have some left.

Got one of these Sunday in the end.
They only had three left.
It does work like I said above.
You can program it to turn on and off up to 12 times each and every day, or, for the days that you specify.
It will continue to do this until the battery runs out. ( Which I would hope would be at least a year, but I don't know for sure. )

Ah ha, well I will know for future, your response is very much appreciated. I'm glad you found one for yourself. With the promised summer, you may appreciate the timer more than ever this year...we'll wait and see, but I aint holding my breath!
