DLCs are included on the disc, so even a preowned copy would give you all the content. Cheapest I've seen this to go for.

Also, I can see they have listed De Blob 2 for £6, and Superhot (PSVR) for £10. Neither of these two are showing in stock online, but if you could grab a copy instore, that would be a bargain.

Haven't played this for quite some time. I remember when I first bought it (from @deeky actually on FS/FT), the game is so unforgiving and I literally couldn't even keep my car on the track. I eventually went on to sell it within the week

I bought the Digital Deluxe version off the PlayStation Store about 6 weeks after because I actually really wanted to master / enjoy it, it was one of the few real simulation drivers released at the time on console and I needed it in my life. Anyway, long story short - I went on to 'get good' at it (not quite mastering it) and really enjoyed my time with it.

Heat added from me mate, definitely worth this for the GOTY edition.
Think I paid around this on the PSN a little while back. As BuzzDuraband said, it's hardcore! Not for the casual gamer. I found it impossible to drive in the rain. There are some online tips to adjust the settings to make it slightly more playable with a controller. Good deal though.

To be honest, I think @BuzzDuraband is terrible at racing games. He is also having the same complaint about Forza Horizon, or at least is always behind my rankings.

I don't play Forza Horizon and that's not a negative on the game. I just prefer simulation over arcade racing. You'll see me on Motorsport before you do Horizon, sadly.
Is two worth going for over this game or just more of the same?

There we go! You don't play Horizon because you know it is a very very difficult game, don't you?

Besides, I am just pulling your leg.... as usual. And you are again falling for it... as usual.
Ok so what's the best car driving game on the PS4?
Are there any open world ones?

I knew you were bud.

I do own Forza Horizon 3, I just don't play it much.

I heard @BuzzDuraband is very good at racing games and he is a Sony fanboy. He may be able to answer it.

Driveclub.

The best racing game on the PS4 by a mile.

Don't go off the original reviews. By all accounts it was a bit meh at release, but the fixed and improved it to within an inch of its life. It's an epic driving game.

£5.79 on PSN atm, if you haven't already played it there's no excuse now.

+1 for that, still playing it now.

It's hugely playable with a controller - actually a great deal more difficult using a wheel (but more fun) - great selection of cars and a superb community / online challenge mode. The post-launch support it got from the developers was exemplary.
Is all of the content disc based with this edition, no extra codes, passes etc required? I mean ALL of it, I want ALL the cars etc.

I have the original disc but this is cheaper than the season pass.

Driveclub isn't hardcore, it's more arcade than simulation. There's no tuning to worry about.

There's Rocket League, which gets great reviews, although it isn't really a racing game.

Then there's Table Top Racing, which MSK played to death whilst I wasn't that keen. That's like Micro Machines, although I suspect that's a bit before your time

I'd go with Driveclub for now and see how he goes with that. For £5 -odd you can't really go wrong.

Have a look at this, it may help.

Sorry I can't be more help, I haven't played many driving games on the PS4 because I'm put off by mediocre review scores, whereas an 8 year old isn't interested in that so long as it's fun.
