I purchased this projector a couple of weeks ago (got it for £169.99 after a discount voucher).

It went up in price for a couple of weeks (to over £200) and now it is back down again.

I am very impressed with it for the price (I have it projecting into around a 100 inch image and is still OK in a dimly lit room with the image nice and sharp).

The only think it misses is Bluetooth so I've got a audio extractor and going to run fiber to my surround sound.

Maybe someone has it? What's the quality of it?
I've tried a few native 1080p cheapo pj,s this year and although the image quality was ok on most of them it's the lack of overall quality and excess noise which let them all down.
The Abox 4000 was probably the best out of the ones I tested.
I saved up and bought a Viewsonic px
hd700 which is superb.

5500 Lumens and it's ONLY OK in a dimly lit room!??

My LG PF1000U has 1000 Lumens, and works perfectly in a dimly lit room. It's even acceptable in daylight (not great, but... acceptable)

I'd expect something that's allegedly 5 times brighter to be amazing in full daylight

All I can say is its very good in a dimly lit room (no problem for me as we only use it for film night with the kids a couple of times a week and not normal television so would never use it with the lights on anyway). .

If not I would have sent it back to Amazon.

I wouldn't trust some of the spec on some of the projectors, but all I can say is its very good.

I did try it as a smaller image in a lit kitchen before and that was good even in daylight (though prob only a 60 inch image where I am using the projector further away in the living room and have to use the zoom function on the projector to reduce it to around 100 inches.

I was going to post myself but when I do a lot of amazon deals it hotukdeals turn around and says they dont like them as they are 3rd party seller even thoughh amazon have them in stock and delivering the item.

I got mine and its coming Friday, just after that the page was showing a week delay for oter buyer and its now showing as out of stock.

The reason it was posted was because it has 91% 5 star ratings that seem genuine

Thats depends on distance, actual lighting, screen etc and is just too subjective.
I just brought this one on Amazon for £180 it's honestly really good and picture quality is great. See link and sample images.

I think I looked into this one as well and was very tempted, but settled on the one I did due to the zoom function.

5500 lumens should be ok in a very bright room, not in a dimly lit room. Don't trust the advertised specs, such a bright projector should be way more expensive.
Got a Crenova claiming 3000 lumens, you can only use it it pitch black room. Got LG1000, it is way brighter than Crenova only has only 1000 lumens and I can use it in a dimly lit room.

Why not just try the projector and if it's good keep it and if it's bad just send it back?

I took a chance and it's really good so I kept it.

Yes, this is what I did too. But never tried a projector before, so I thought it was good until I saw how a real projector looks. 5500 lumens is super bright, you can't have such thing for £100-200.
I did not vote cold by the way. I don't know how good or bad is, but it certainly does not have more than 300 lumens at that's at a push. My Crenova has about 50 lumens probably but it is advertised at 3000 and the reviews on Amazon are great, while in reality is at best acceptable for cartoons and only in pitch black room.

I will give it a try and send back if not needed but reviews are good which is at least something to go on.

I like this item 5000 lumen, 1080p and only £29

I must admit that I have not compared it to other projectors, but I think its very good for what I need it for an exceeds my expectations as even having film night with the kids on the TV we use to turn the lights down and the brightness of the projection in the same setting compares to the TV.

This projector is very good even when it's not a pitch black room as have some light coming through the cream curtains behind the screen and then also have the fish tank and geko tank lights turned on as well.

I guess nowadays with better and better LED technology then the price of a decent bright projector are slashed in price to what they were 4 or 5 years ago.

Thanks for that - I have un-expired the deal again.

It suggests there is only a few hours at this price at the moment though.
I have found on the cheaper end Acer and benq are best and top end epson and Optima. Never heard of yaber, so many useless chinese projectors I wouldnt chance a brand that hasn't been established yet. Lumens should be ok for watching with the curtains open at that level, hmmm, not convinced this can be done at this price point. Not done well anyway, wide birth and cold come to mind. Have had 10 ish projectors over the past 15 years or so, mainly upgrading through to tech advances like 3d, hd, 4k and stuff. Probably only for sale through amazon ebay and wish.

That's why I said I tried it and it's great - if it hadn't been then I would have sent it back.

Somebody in the reviews compared it to an Optima (they said not quite as bright in the bright room, but just as good in a dimly lit room (which I guess a lot of people like myself will be watching it in)).

My Optima is fine in a brigh-ish room and I think it's around 2500/3000 lumens, so if this is as it states, why is it not as good?

Like I said I don't worry if it works well in a fully lit room.

I tried it in the kitchen in daylight with the light on and it was good with a 60 inch or so image, but I'm not worried about that.

All I worry about is that it is excellent and exceeds my expectations for what I am using it for (in a dimly lit room at 100 inches.

I've just had a search and there appears to be quite a few models that Optima make, so I'm not sure if the guy that was comparing it had the same model as you?

Why would I pay double or even triple the price for a projector when I am very impressed with the one I have bought?

A lot of people had not heard of OnePlus phones a few years ago thinking "cheap rubbish".

Cant say I'm thrilled with it and its going back. I have a new (old stock ) viewsonic from 2010 which has a rating of 2700 lumen and as can be seen its twice as bright (top) as the 5000 lumen machine (bottom). The bow is on a white background and the brightness is at 100 (which you cant use as blacks then become a noticible grey, even the pink is getting washed out..
One thing I dont like is they send a note saying if you leave a review on Amazon you can get a free item so reviews are biasd in the positve direction.

OK many thanks for the reply and sorry it didn't suit you.

I still think it's more than adequate for what I need (just a film night with the kids once or twice a week and haven't really got the money to spend hundreds on a projector).

Thanks Mark.
This is a photo of it in action in a dimly lit room for film night (unfortunately it's Sponge Bob Square Pants). 😁

I must admit I am a bit dubious with the reviews on Amazon nowadays and even some of the reviews on this projector look suspicious, but I am really happy with the projector.

If I was going to use it all the time I'd spend some more money, but this is perfect for when we use it Fri and Sat nights for film nights with the kids

Agree re Amazon reviews. Few decent YouTube vids though. My use would be pretty much the same so might take a punt. Thanks

Like I though "you can always send it back if it doesn't suite" that's the bonus of long distance selling regulations
