2 weeks into using mine and it's AMAZING.
Thanks. The lens shift is minimal but it is there! And the picture is MASSIVE but I did all the calculations before I bought it so it fits (just). This is only my second projector (I had an in focus one for 6 years) but I am very happy with it. In fact I'm leaving work early to go and watch a film on it....

I haven't tried the 3d but it sounds good from what I have read. I work in TV and there are projectors everywhere but this, for the money, is probably unbeatable. My 120" picture with a bluray is as good as the cinema (the only real difference is the black levels aren't quite as black as a movie theatre).
Hi spatter, thanks for the input. I put this up on HUKD for those that want a good home cinema pj on a tight budget. As you can see, not much heat, compared to £700 3d tv's that attract a lot of attention. I have been following the reports on the W1070 on avsforums (usa) also, French & German forums for some time now.
I would buy it myself, however, I have a 2 yr old BenQ W1000+, on a new lamp, full HD, not 3d but incredibly immersive, I paid £750 back then & thought that was a bargain. I have always used it on eco mode, had 2500 hrs on the original lamp which by the way was still very bright etc, but I had bought spare lamp 2 yrs ago for £115, so wanted to get my use out of it.
Some complain about the limitations on zoom & lens shift, however, some lens shift is better than none.
Glad your enjoying the W1070, I am a big fan of BenQ. There are better reference std. pj's to be had for many many £thousands more, but this one is aimed at the entry level consumer electronics niche, and Optoma, Viewsonic etc. will have a job to compete with the W1070 at this price point.
ps. I have read that the ebay BenQ compatible glasses work fine for a lot less £'s check it out with users...(later pages) also, some calibration settings to improve image.
The black level will improve with correct calibration & when the new lamp settles in (100 hrs)
