preowned PS VITA £29.99 / DSI XL £4.99 with 12 month warranty at GAME instore

Popped into GAME in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol yesterday and picked up a PS VITA Wi-Fi + 3G version w/ charging cable for £29.99 (preowned w/ a 12 month warranty)

Also managed to get a DSI XL w/ a charger (preowned w/ a 12 month warranty) for £4.99

Not the most popular handhelds around these days but certainly worth a go at these prices! By far the cheapest I’ve seen them. CEX will offer £13 cash or £23 trade in credit for the DSI alone

Can’t find them on GAME’s website so assuming these are store-specific

Vita is a top notch emulation machine
Absolute bargain. Vita is a great system in its own right too.
wtf 5 pounds, doubt you will actually find this deal anywhere
As you say they are store specific mate, dependant obviously on which store has them in in stock, sadly none of my locals do. But the Game website does confirm the price if anybody is lucky enough to see one Awesome purchase for yourself, heat added.

I'm not a clever man. Good thing I've already got one!
Good price but none in stock anywhere in London apparently

Worth asking in store though as there was no stock in Norwich according to the site a couple of months back when this was last posted, I made it to store and none on display, but I asked and they had half a dozen PS Vitas still. They told me that they 'no longer stock' them, so the Game website says they have no stock, however whereas with most normal products when that happens they are shipped back to the central stores and back out to other shops that still stock them, with the PS Vita, nobody was restocking them so they just sat in a box out the back of the store instead. They wouldn't drop the price for me to clear them out though unfortunately, so I just bought the best condition original OLED screen Vita they had.

Were there any left at cribbs?

Just got the last two
Didn’t buy the DS consoles though
And the gaggle are released
Both are still great consoles with a great library of games. Well worth picking up still.
Excellent prices for both consoles if you're lucky enough to find one but most definitely store specific. DS for a fiver is unbelievable value.

As for the Vita it is the only console I've ever preordered (hard to believe it's over 7 and a half years old now) and it is a great machine that sadly never achieved its full potential. I still have mine and it still gets quite a bit of play time. Lots of indie games and a great handheld if you're into JRPGs of which there is an abundance. Also remote play with PS4 is a nice plus point although controls don't always translate too well to Vita as it has less buttons than PS4 controller (no L/R 2/3 buttons, so some inputs awkwardly mapped to the rear trackpad or the touchscreen). You can get add on peripherals to get over this though.
checked my local game store when this came up a few months back, they said they havent seen a ps vita in there for years..

Don't seem to be any in the West Midlands. Spoke to Cannock who said someone had come in and bought up all six they had in store. Greedy B*****d. Have been trying to get hold of one for a couple of years as my son has broken 2 (Yes they are very fragile and are renowned for the screen of death) and he still has so many games that we can't use. Repairs cost more than a brand new unit.

True, but I will always be disappointed that it struggles to cope with many SNES or GBA games - even when overclocked! As far as NES, GB, GBC, MD, SMS, GG, PSP and PSX go, it is fantastic! Although with PSX you have the caveat that you have to use touch controls for the secondary shoulder buttons due to the fact that the Vita only has one set.

Ironically the vastly less powerful New 3DS/New 2DS is able to play both SNES and GBA almost flawlessly.

Just got my vita out the other day to take on my travels next week. Was gonna buy some new games for it but nowhere seems to sell them cheap anymore! Even older rubbish games aren't available as cheap as they used to be. Any sites selling them cheap these days ??
I used to work for GAME, the staff will have the pick of these and then some more for Ebay.

I'm not sure about websites but vita games have become increasingly hard to find in gaming stores including Game. CEX have generally been my go to place for vita games over the last few years as they generally seem to be the best priced, second hand of course.

Cex looks good, probably try and stop into one of the shops tho as 3 pound postage means it's less of a bargain! Even tho I'll spend 3 pound getting to the shop I bet! Picked up final fantasy and God eater from eBay for 15 pounds, not too bad! Am I right in thinking all the FIFA's were exactly the same game just updated teams?

I'm not even sure if it displays on mobile, I know it didn't use to. It's usually the case though, to be fair IIRC Game stopped selling Vita hardware and games quite some time ago (with the Wii U), so stock will be scarce.

Yeah I was using mobile. I didn’t know you had to click the item, then stock locater, then pre owned tab. GAME newbie

Worth checking the PlayStation store, occasionally they have pretty decent discounts. Of course it depends how much storage youve got, with the still super expensive memory cards

I like the CEX website as you can easily check prices and store availability so you don't have a wasted journey. I've never bought online off them as I'm never far from a store. Yes exactly that with the Vita FIFA games unfortunately.

Yes damn those proprietary memory cards!
The ps vita has been discontinued by playstation just this week, I don't know how this will affect them.

Can you use this: psvitamod.com/sd2…ta/

I have a PS Vita but just found I didn't use it as much as I wanted to - I found it's another device to carry around.

OP, great find though, if you can locate one. I am surprised the staff haven't snapped these up while they were pricing them.

Yeah, I've got loads from the store before. Kinda regret selling some games like need for speed tho as it was on PlayStation plus but it's such a big file
Heat added!

I played my PSP loads but then when I got an iPod touch I found myself just playing that on train journeys etc., so when the Vita came out I was meh about it. I'm kinda interested in one now as I want a portable emulation machine but I'm not sure what it emulates or how well (Grazer's post above is helpful).

Also been looking at a GPI case but they're expensive, and I'm not convinced by my pi zero in terms of boot-up times and performance (depending on what software you're running).
I'd love a vita, just for the few decent exclusives.

That said, I think the game is over for dedicated Handheld systems.
