PS Vita and Pre Order Pack £219.99 @ The Hut (or £197.99 with 10% Discount (if you have been sent 'we miss you' code))

As title I was sent the 10% we miss you code, and thought I would try my luck on a PS Vita pre order and it worked £197.99, that will do me.

People tend to be really kind on here and pass on 10% codes if they aren't going to use them, could be a good deal for certain people.

(I know I'll probably get it about 3 weeks after release knowing thehut, but it's at least a nice price!)

Plus 2% Quidco
Do The Hut charge on order or dispatch?
Original Poster
Dispatch I believe, otherwise I'm screwed...
Rather pay extra and get it for release day personally still hot for those who need it though
think i might just stick to gaming on iphone don't see a point of carrying around 2 devices until i see a price drop seeing as 3DS was £230 and after 2 months it dropped down to £150
Cant decide on this, think Ill wait for a price drop
Looks like they've finally been moaned at by Sony. Originally The Hut were selling the pre-order pack as a separate product which you had to buy to secure your pre-order!

Regardless of (inevitable) price drops, this is the cheapest pre-order I've seen.
preordered from zavvi with uncharted golden abyss for £229 using similar code
anybody with a spare code? appreciated if so. Thanks

He also failed to realise that the 3DS isnt even comparable to the Vita in terms of hardware. Its like comparing an orange san francisco to an upcoming quad core tegra 3 smartphone.

Ordered with GameStop. What are thehut like with shipping on release day? Or can you expect to get it agesss after release?

Same price at zavvi and sendit too.
If any one does have a code that they don't think they'll use, it would be much appreciated if they could message me it.

Thanks in advance. :0)
Because i am nice and generally awesome. .

The Hut 10% code: 1998-SOSB-4YP1
Zavvi 10% code: 1997-35IE-1W7R

First to use gets it
As we get closer to release day we will see more competition from the online retailers and supermarkets like we saw with 3DS in price and/or bundles.

I got with Tesco atm as that 8% quidco is decent but if I get a code from the hut i'll jump on that.

What the flamin hell has the hardware got to do with the economics of the situation? Both systems will be a launched at a similiar price point with a similiar conditions...

What does the price have to do with anything? If you don't see the point in carrying around 2 devices, surely you don't see the point in carrying around 2 devices, full stop?
My ignore list must be bursting with haters by now.

Always something about apple and sony deals that attract them.
I don't want the Vita not to sell but its an utterly stupid launch window just after christmas and the sales when people are poorer and having to pay back large credit card bills. So I'm going to play the waiting game despite definitely wanting to buy one. I can see it being quite a poor launch. Really they should have held it back for a September launch around the world to get the timing right. Also it needed to be £199.99 for the uk wifi model I think. So should have had a normal selling price of about £209 to allow for most retailers discounting to £199.

The Vita is incredible hardware hopefully with a great future but Sony's handling of the launch seems ill-judged.

Good deal personally will wait for Value packs.
If anyone could DM me a code, that'd be lovely.
I'm gonna go for it!! I have almost 5 weeks to change my mind, but this is a very good price (pretty sure i have a 10% code.

You'll probably have at least 5 weeks after you cancel your order to wait for a refund from The Hut Group too.

You mean, delay it for half a year in which time another 10 million people have bought a 3DS? Not quite as clean-cut as you think!
If anyone could PM me an unwanted 10% code for either thehut or zavvi I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much in advance to anyone who would be so kind

I preordered a 3DS from the Hut and cancelled it just 6 days before it was released (preordered from game instead) and it was done instantly. Other than it taking a while for delivery - I've never had a problem with The Hut personally.

Ah - Didn't click with what you were getting at - hopefully they don't take payment on order. If they try to take money now I'll ask for a refund straight away - sneaky!

I still have £20 on my HMV account as well so I may use that on a memory card. Anyone have any idea if there is any need for a 16GB over an 8GB? How big are the vita games? I've heard the Vita doesn't support any decent video formats and it's hard to put videos on it anyway so I doubt I'll be using it for that.

tempted to order now (work in morrisons but not been told if we'll get them in) but don't have the money so need it confirming that they dont take the money first!

PS pretty sure i've got a 10% code for both! so may have one going spare

I think he meant a worldwide pre-xmas launch window might have helped sales a tad... I wouldn't argue to be honest.

Actually i'd have probably have gone for one in december, i'd have fallen for the 'must have' of a worldwide launch.

I'll wait now, i'm not ready to be fobbed off by £20 of free downloads when the price drop occurs in march...
Might just wait awhile. I can see some sort of price drop, or new bundle announced at E3. Sure, it's a few months away, but it may just be worth the wait.
Although, I do really want one.

Do you think Cex will try to "corner the market" again, like they did with the 3DS?

He said "hold it back for a September launch" - ergo September 2012. Obviously a pre-xmas 2011 worldwide launch would have helped but they can't just magic them out of thin air!

Better to have some momentum for the christmas sales rather than be seen as a failed console with a poor launch. The 3DS is not technically impressive apart from its 3D screen and most people realise technically superior hardware launches after inferior hardware, that is pretty normal. The 3DS is far closer to the performance of the PSP than Vita and yet that already has 70 million sales before the 3DS launched. The 3DS launch was well below expectations and only a large price cut turned poor sales into good sales.

Sometimes consumer perception of a product is more important than the product itself. A poor launch damages the Vita brand.
If anyone could PM me a spare Zavvi code, I'd greatly appreciate it and I'll even throw an 'Ayyyyyy' their way...

I think I'm gonna give this a go but I'm expecting a cancellation email before launch as the terms and conditions of the voucher say...
*10% discount code excludes electronics, computing, consoles and pre-orders and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers e.g. multi-buys. Max discount of £10. Discount code is valid until midnight 31st January 2012.
I'd really really appreciate it if someone would post me an unwanted code please?
Need to get a Vita for my nephew and you'd really be helping me out...
