Seeing as both this and the new PSVITA slimline model have yet to get an EU/UK release date I figured people were curious as to how best upgrade their current memory to the new standard now that the 64gb variant is taking form finally, hopefully we will see higher memory capacity down the line

Personally I think this is a CRACKING deal as you get free shipping with it too and I've had a good history with the site despite not ordering from them in a while.

Saw an Amazon marketplace seller giving these for £90 and its over £10 cheaper compared to Play Asia! Not to mention the 32GB variant is £60 brand new on Amazon, super useful for those PS+ freebies

It's expensive by when you consider the £ per gb it works out much better value than the other cards

It says £58.74 to me.... am I missing a code?

As an extension to what I said these guys have rock solid customer support and I've never had a problem with them, last game I bought was the Japanese version of Tenchu Time of The Assasins on PSP (years back!) and came a few days earlier than expected! I know some of you guys are kinda annoyed at how high priced they are but I think when you consider the format and limited avaialibilty (again not availiable in EU) yet this is a scorcher

How about import tax?

Actually what a cracking price, have to buy this as all my games are bought from the psn store.

I can confirm these JP cards work on UK/US Vita models, as I've had one since they launched them.

I couldn't live with a smaller card for my Vita, nearly full anyway - gonna have to start deleting some of the less used stuff.

True that, heck even my 32gb card can't fit all the current games that I've purchased recently, went crazy in that PSVITA sale they did a while back, got no space for Resistance or Sonic Racing Transformed not to mention that huge Killzone Mercenary patch :0

This for the PlayStation Vita Console (PCH-2000 Series) Is it Compatible with the Original Ps Vita?

any coupon codes?

Beware of import taxes though!

@jakethebeagles - None of the memory cards or Vita games are region locked so yes it will be compatible

@candyman86 - Don't quote me on this as it may be a US only promo and its first time customers only but give it a shot:

1) Visit the site's Facebook page at the bottom of the website
2) 'Like' the page
3) It should give you NEWFACEBOOK1 or something like that as a code
4) Try it at the checkout page and hopefully it'll work

Not much but better than nothing I guess

I'm ready to purchase but in regards to import tax, it says '* Orders shipping to UK and Germany are eligible for our tax-free (VAT-Free) offer if the selected shipping option is Standard Service. However, all Sony game products, including consoles, games and accessories, are not eligible for our tax-free (VAT-Free) offer.' H
So how much would the tax be on this? I've another code which is: NEWTWITTER3

yesasia.com/glo…tml - I'm pretty sure that would answer your question but to be 100% honest I would contact them personally and see what they say about it. Seems to affect only us and Germany apparently

Thanks ordered one. Heated

Killzone is getting a big patch soon, which saves over 1 Gb of memory, and improves the online!

Oh good the world is safe for another day, after reading 16 replies I was starting to vet worried that no one had mentioned how expensive the cards are/how sony are ripping us off/etc

Although this is a good price in comparison to previous prices for Vita models, they are still hilariously overpriced. Sony must make an absolute killing from these.

This is a good price. I paid £68 for this card a month or so ago. Memory cards don't attract customs duty, also imported the new vita whilst I was at it and sorry to say much prefer it to the current uk vita. Have some heat.

This is where I got my gear from. Good bunch and the price has come down. Wouldn't hesitate to buy from this lot. PayPal too.

Was looking at the vita on there too. £120 is really good, even with shipping and customs on top. I really hate the styling of the current vita, and never really like the oversaturated OLED.

My question to you is, how are you coping with having the O and X buttons swapped? Is it just for menus? Or do our games also have them swapped?

The X and O swap is software only, always has been since PS1 days. The buttons are in the same position on every controller and console and always have been - I've seen a lot of these posts around the web lately, which is odd.

With the Nippon deal would I have to pay import tax? Has anyone from the U.K ordered a card from there before?

Yeah I know, but I mean is it limited to the operating system only? I.e. navigating PS Store, menus, etc. Or, if I play a UK game on it, will the firmware also force that game to have the X and O functionality swapped?

I could live with it just in the interface, as I use the touchscreen by default anyway, but if I popped in a retail game from the UK that, for whatever reason, had no way in game of swapping X and O mapping, and defaulted to the Japan mapping, I'd be crippled.

Just ordered one. Was waiting on stock at Amazon for the 32GB (£39.99). This is a much better deal.

Just to help anyone making a decision. A couple of months ago I bought a card from Nippon for about £68 but sadly Royal Mail messed up and delivered to the wrong address but because Nippon got confirmation it was delivered they washed their hands of it, I tried to claim back from Paypal but again because Nippon had tracking to show it was delivered they rejected the claim. Royal Mail won't help saying I need to contact Nippon, Nippon won't even reply to my mails

I then ordered another card with YesAsia for £58 with their free delivery and it arrived about 2 weeks later just in time for Christmas No import tax, they'd marked it value £15 and by all accounts they have good customer service unlike Nippon Yasan.

I am so tempted. Shipping can take 2-4 weeks though. Dammit hard to resist will order and sell my 32gb

Have gone for it, never ordered anything from these Japanese / Korean sites before, was always put off by tales of customs, long wait times, etc, but this is potentially such a great offer that it's well worth going for.

I had ordered a 32gb from Amazon over three weeks ago for an extra cheap price if £34.99 (deal with a code posted on HUK), but gave up the other day and cancelled as it is still not showing as in stock. Can't seem to find the 32gb for less than £50 any where else (Sainsburys hasn't had stock in ages).

Memory cards with a decent capacity for the vita seem to be pretty scarce at the moment, the 16gb is available in Amazon, £25, but Argos only seem to have a handful left in my local 100 stores (had loads pre Xmas).

So this deal is even hotter, potentially.

Thanks. Gonna impulse buy and hope for the best

Count yourself lucky, I paid 70 quid for my 32gb

I'm still struggling for space with it as well, thanks to ps plus.

This crazy pricing from sony is what will kill the vita. What are sony doing - still living in the dark ages.

Beware of import taxes though!

I am guessing that if there is any import tax it will be approx £15-£20, obviously would hope I don't have to pay it, (depends on playasia it seems)...but if I do how is that done ?

Do you get a bill from UK Customs ? DoesPlay Asia charge you after ?

It's to prevent the OS from getting hacked, by creating a proprietary card, people can't access the files stored on the memory card it self, and since the VITA device has no accessible built in memory, hackers have no where to stick their files on. Sure, it's really expensive, but 64GB microSD's go for around £50, so are you really paying THAT MUCH more?

How is it crazy pricing? iPads, iPhones, Nexus etc all leap up in price considerably for extra storage. It offers Sony the chance to only manufacture 1 device then have production lines for various cards, simple and maximum flexibility from a users viewpoint, more games = get a bigger card. iPad, want a larger capacity, get a new device for almost double the price.

Yeah but yesasia offers FREE international shipping but nippon yasan you have to pay for it. End of the day if the customs do tax, it is still cheaper than elsewhere and also cheaper than nissan yasan.

dunno if its just me but I can't get it to go to paypal check out keeps telling me:

Just to answer the earlier question - the cards are the same for old and new models of Vita. They are fully multi-region.

The thing that SONY are struggling with isn't the pricing structure of the cards - it's the marketing of PS+. I've had PS+ for six months and have over 30 top free games. Things like "Drakes". Once you actually look at it, it's all tremendous value. If I had a free subscription service, with no free games, and a £10 64gb card - I'd be massively worse off.
