Strangely, the prices of the PlayStation Vita (WiFi) bundles have not fallen though:

For example,

Thanks a lot. I've been waiting for a good price on this for a while - ordered!
it's slowly getting there, £150 would be the "trigger price" for me, but want the 3G version (just incase there is no Wifi in some places), any good deals on the 3G? does it worth paying the significant extra compared to the Wifi version?

Did you mean "is it worth paying"?

I would mainly be looking to use it whilst out and about on the tube. Thanks for any advice

Think of it as sending your "move" in a game by an SMS text message. When your opponent receives your "move" their game is updated accordingly & they can then "move" & send the result back to your console, & so on.Perhaps only you, fluffy, know if you can afford the extra outlay now for the benefit the additional facility may bring in the future. You cannot retro--fit a 3G module/component later, however. There will be ongoing 3G data SIM costs, too. When you top-up the in-box Vodafone 3G SIM card with at least £5 you will also receive a redemption code to download "WipEout 2048" from PlayStation Store. However, you will need a memory card to store the download on...

Ordered. Thanks OP
Tempted! Do Play still have terrible customer services and delivery times? I've put a price match to Amazon in case but I'm still tempted to order from Play in case I miss out.
Good to see it come down this much well before xmas. It could finally take off if it gets a killer game or two around the time folk start buying presents and the sellers start competing a bit more.
I've got the wifi only model and if I'm honest there has never been a moment where I've thought 'wish I bought the 3G unit'. Great piece of kit as well, needs a better selection of games for sure but that's a brilliant entry price. Would suggest picking up Uncharted: Golden Abyss, good game! Heated! X)

How have you asked them about a price match? I cancelled my amazon order and ordered from play. Didn't know they did price match.

Found this on the website.

Price Matching
Amazon.co.uk does not price-match with other retailers (including third-party sellers who sell their items on our website). We do, however, consistently work toward maintaining competitive prices on everything we carry.

On the product page, when signed in, you have three options below the price but above the reviews. It's the one that says tell us about a lower price. Whether Amazon match it though is a different story.

Like 03sho has mentioned with the "tell us about a lower price", here's quick way to find it. Load up the product page as usual then CTRL + F to do a search, type in tell us and press enter then your browser will jump down to this...

If you have a 3g smart phone you can use this as a hotspot to connect your vita to.
There's no need to buy the 3g version.
3G also has the GPS chip in it, other than that as mentioned if you have a smartphone with Wifi hotspot functions there isn't much point. I got the 3G as you also get Wipeout 2048 free when you make your first £5 topup.
Thanks for posting CloudHeaven, finally caved in and bought one for my youngest, just need to find a deal on a 16gb card now

so tempted.... but still going to hold off
Go on, you know you want to....
so tempted but then you have to buy a memory card a game etc ill wait for the cheap bundles.
I just took one back for a refund, horrible battery life , around 3 hours playing uncharted and severe lack of any games a the moment. May buy the next version once they have fixed the battery issue and got some decent games out for it. Great price though.

may have just been a problem with that system, i charge mine maybe once a week with moderate use everyday..
Good price but they really should be including memory; either inbuilt or a free card. I sold my Vita and bought a PSP Go with 32GB storage for less than the price of a 32Gb Vita card. Ridiculous pricing there.
Still overpriced for a dead system.

It has happened to some in the past. As Jersey is outside the EU VAT zone, it counts as an imported good & so can be subject to VAT/Import tax.
Sometimes the Post Office pick it up, usually not though.

You got a new PSP Go, and a 16GB M2 card for under £60? Where from?

I don't recall saying it was new...
However, got it in a classfied forum...not this one though, although it was mint and boxed like new with official PSP case.
Back on topic, I was merely pointing out that a (still) great little system that has a great back catalogue and can emulate nearly all consoles up to the N64 can be had with 32gb memory for less than the 32gb tiny little bit of plastic you need to make the Vita useable.
ironically, the main use I found for the Vita (after completing the first few release games) was PSP titles....thats why I decided to sell it and get a PSP.

Whilst i'd agree that beyond a couple of good titles, the Vita's primary success is that it reinvigorates PSP titles with it's amazing screen and dual sticks, but you're not comparing like with like. At the same time in the PSP's lifecycle it was floundering on software too. The Vita in and of itself is a great bit of kit.

However, i agree with you again (so much for being contrary!) that even at this price point for the console with the addition of a memory card it's still too expensive.....and the PSN account management per unit is just stupid, albeit better than the 3DS region lock.
A risky deal at Tesco Entertainment:

There is a glitch where you could use the 15% off discount code on an order including console and something else worth more than £25 in your order (note the 15% off code is not normally valid on consoles).

So say a vita £198 and £25 (£20+£5) eGift voucher (or Vita game).

Purchase £190 e-vouchers for £161.50 after 15% discount (possibly £16.15 Quidco cashback on purchase which is outside scope of VAT)
Use £189.55 e-vouchers to pay for £198 Vita and £25 eGift voucher after another 15% discount (possibly £16.15 Quidco cashback on net of VAT)

Paid £161.50
less Quidco £16.15
less Quidco £16.15
=£129.20 cost for a Vita and £25.45 vouchers (which you could use again for games)

Still very risky though and probably easier to just do a bit of overtime at work, but a deal is a deal!

Ooh, testy. I'm sure you only want it for all of the above and nothing more in that case!
So tempted as I have over £100 Play.com credit, I'm a heavy PS3 user and this would compliment my PS3 and loads of existing titles I''ve got on my Sony account, but still however you cut it the memory cards are horribly priced and give many no incentive to buy. I couldn't give two figs about whether it's sony safe guarding their precious product - this should not be the end-users concern. Just give me a goddamn console with at least an adequate amount of storage to start me off for a fair price and I'd bite. 32GB cards should be in nearly all console packs (besides specific solus packs) and the price should just be adjusted to suit.

Sony should also sort out a means for PSP UMD games owners to register UMD games on a PSP and be able to download copies of them on their PS Vita's using their Sony account for nominal fees/discounted price, or even free of charge in some cases. That's more incentive to invest in a PS Vita from a PSP right there.

I still want one though
Is little Kings Story out yet by far the best non Nintendo game on Wii imo the game will get me to buy a Vita.

Hi Sigma, the cheapest I found was at Sainsburys Entertainment for £28.80 using the 10% code...
sainsburysentertainment.co.uk/en/…gle
Didn't want to post a deal as you know what people are like with Vita storage!
Oh, and the main reason I sold mine was the lack of remote play which is the reason I bought it. I don't want to get in to the old discussion re: whether it was actually promised or not but I saw a trailer showing the feature and I bought in good faith...and it wasnt the Killzone proof of concept video either; it was an official Sony promo video.
i bought a vita on launch day awesome machine well worth the money, games drop pretty quickly in price too, honestly the 3g version isnt worth while you cant play online with 3g and there there is a file size download limit hence why i bought wifi only, best games are gravity rush, mortal kombat, uncharted, metal gear hd, wipeout and rayman although i have about 4 others that are all good games too people that **** off the vita a probably people that cant afford one, haters
