Posted this before and it went cold, trying again due to better games on offer

Basically you get free game(s) every month you are a subscriber and can play them for as long as you subscribe

Decembers free offerings are:

DC Universe (exclusive online Beta - 15gb download required)
Cuboid (£7.99) (4.25/5 rating)
Oddworld: Abes Exodus (Ps1) (3.99) (4.81 rating)
Bubble Trouble (Mini) (3.99) (3.42 rating)
Dracula Undead nightmare (Mini) (3.99) (3.61 rating)
And some free dynamic themes, lava lamps etc etc

NEW
Samuri Showdown (NeoGeo)
Space Shooter for 2 bucks (mini)

Also money off the following:
Dead nation 7.99 (9.99 if not a member of PS+)
Greed Corp 4.00 (7.99 if not a member)
Age of Hammer wars 1.75 (3.49 if not a member)
The Punisher HD 3.15 (6.29 if not a member)
All NEo Geo games

Exclusive:
Impossible mission (PS1) / Super fruitfall (Mini) bundle for £3.19

If you got 2 £20 PSN cards from Zavvi for around £35, the cost per month would be around £2.33. Even if you paid £40 for membership that's only £2.67 per month. I think you are getting a lot for that - there's £20 of free games this month alone.

EDIT
** NEW ** Free game - Sackboy's prehistoric moves (rrp 4.79 - PS+ eclusive) (Rating 4.82/5) - sure this was 9.99 when posted, but current price edited in

can u find it cheapern anywhere else?? ps+ is great value for money, i have had it since day one and i have no complaints at all. as for the games expiring after your subscription ends, this wont happen as its that good a service, i will continue to subscribe once the current sub runs out.

You say that as if it is a "given", what happens, god forbid, if somehow you found yourself in a position you could no longer afford it.

Same can be said for Xbox Live, fortunately with PSN at least you still can have online access, however I would sooner Sony use the PS+ sub for a better online experience and customer support rather than games rentals and discounts for your subscription.

Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves (Move compatible) added to free games - has a rrp of £9.99 (Sorry - £4.79 now - sworn it said 9.99)

Cuboid looks amazing. I love Abe's Exodus.

Well happy with my £2.32 spending this month, for me this has to be one of the deals of the year. But we are at -47, what's going on? Roll on next months offerings

An invitation to join the Beta Trial for "DC Universe Online" for "PlayStation Plus" subscribers is also a worthwhile addition to the membership benefits this week (following the download [of approximately 15GB] of the Beta version).

Further details on this & the most recent additions to "PlayStation Plus" are summarised in the following Official European PlayStation Blog article:

There should be further additions to the items available to "PlayStation Plus" subscribers this Wednesday as well.

Further bargains, both worthy additions, falling into the category of "playable but wouldn't have bought them". Samuri Showdown is a decent enough beat em up, and "Space shooter for 2 bucks" is, well, a space shooter for 2 bucks. Or free with PS+

Have been slow to update so apologies for that. As ever - hope this helps someone. I have basically recouped my 15 month subscription this month, and am looking forward to what the remaining 14 months bring.

The "big" free game (ie 7.99 PS3 one) seems to be something which hasn't been previously offered at a discount - could anyone confirm that? That would be good for me as the only thing I have bought at full price was polar panic, and as that is currently half price in the winter sale can't see it being offered anytime soon.
