These are Catalogue Returns but at this price with a game i am now thinking i might get one

Product is a catalogue return and therefore may show signs of previous usage. In addition this product may have sustained damage to the outer box in transit. All catalogue returns are tested to ensure full working order prior to despatch. This product includes 30 day money back guarantee from ChoicesUK. The Playstation 3 from Sony is the most powerful next generation games console and entertainment system, packed with features to die for. The new 40Gb version has all the great features you would expect from Sony, all at fantastic value.

plus 5% quidco (maybe)

This is awesome, does it have some kind warranty?

i would ring to confirm whether the full years manufacturer warranty applies, if so, amazing deal

GREAT price but out of stock atm!!!!!

The price is great.......
Unfortunately I would be too worried that if they have been used by customers and then returned, surely the previous owner would have registered the machine with Sony, meaning you have no guarantee? :?

Please read the following before proceeding:

Cashback is no longer paid on video game console sales.

ChoicesDirect is currently going through a rebranding and is now going by the name of ChoicesUK.

great!

Good price but remember if it has no warranty then it may not be too good a deal if the previous owner/customer has messed around with it etc.

If they reduced it by a further £50, I'd buy one.

It's pot luck on what you get.

Hi guys,

I'm not sure this is correct against this particular product (hence our 30 day guarantee) as we do also have box damaged units that do have a 12 month warranty therefore there may be confusion here. I shall find out and confirm.

hot deal thinking might just treat myself:w00t:,then again only 3o days guarantee think i will give it a miss

Please do, as I ordered on the strength of a post saying Cust. Services had confirmed it.

I know it could go back under Distance Selling Regs, but really want one with a warranty of 12m.

cant make my mind up if to get 1 ,better be quick

PS3's rarely break so its still a good deal with on a 30 day guarantee. Some people have bought second hand Wii's with one bad game for the price.

i ordered mine on the basis that the advisor told me it comes with 12 months warranty - i hope she said the truth

Not sure of this deal either as the pre-owned from Gamestation do have the 12 month guarantee I think - albeit they are a bit dearer

According to the help section, you can cancel the order at any time before despatch. As these aren't in stock yet this gives us some breathing space. We just need Choices to confirm which warranty we get now so we can all start either celebrating or cancelling! :-D

Right, just spoke to ChoicesUK for complete clarification on this.

Woman I spoke to just confirmed that it only has 30 days warranty, but if there is warranty in the box it's 12 months. :?

If you are not happy with condition or you can return it by sending it back special delivery and getting reimbursed later after providing them with a receipt/proof of postage.

Simply not worth the hassle in my opinion.

What exactly does "if there is warranty in the box mean"? Surely Sony still have an obligation to provide the balance of the exisiting warranty if it was registered before? Not sure on this though. Maybe someone can confirm?

It's basically a second hand machine that could of had god knows what done to it, could of been left on whilst covered with something until almost at boiling point, sweets jammed inside, people messing with the firmware etc etc........

If you are more interested in the Blu Ray player side of the PS3 then this would proberly be your best option for the same price NEW -

Wouldnt be accepted as a catalog return if it was damaged

Have gone for one. Hope they turn out to be ok........now just gotta sell my 60gb version to cover the cost and a bit xtra

Hi Guys,

The warranty against these products is as follows:

ChoicesUK will provide a 30 day guarantee against all sales of catalogue returned consoles.

If an unused warranty card from Sony is present within the box, you will be entitled to a 12 month warranty from Sony UK.

In the scenario where a catalogue customer has purchased the console, filled in the warranty card but decided to return the product within 30 days, you will only be eligible for the ChoicesUK 30 day guarantee. Unfortunately I am not aware of Sony's policy with regard to previously registered warranties and whether they will honour the remaining term.

what :?

why would you get this one if you have the superior 60gb?

It has to be said, Sony are FANTASTIC with their returns/repair warranty. My PS3 went wong and they replaced it two days later. Didn't even ask about a reciept.

I'm tempted to buy but don't need two!

That's exactly the point how do you know if its damaged or not internally? (could of been left on and covered etc which is like, If someone overclocks their PC to almost boiling point and then clocks it back and sells it it won't show as damaged but the CPU won't last very long for the unlucky buyer though.

Wly not phone sony and ask them as they be doing the repair (if any), some manufacter still offer 12 months but not sure on sony.

fair point, i would be concerned if Sony weren;t good and easy to deal with PS3 returns, which i hear they are

This is painfully tempting, but it all seems a bit risky.

theres no vouchers or codes or anything to use with this right? just straight checkout?
