Why could it ot be just that little bit cheaper, waiting and waiting for that £150 or near enough mark

Good price though.

Welcome to hotukdeals, could you put the retailer in the title so its easeir to find

Wouldn't go for this personally with good slim deals around. Not voted.

not too keen on the slim ones, very good deal for the old phat boys:thumbsup:

yh the fat ones are better.

great console, great game, great price.

old tech - nothing special

Hi,

Thanks for posting this, any chance of a scan of the receipt please so that I can haggle with my local store?

Cheers,

Andy

is that nationwide?

I think this is a really good deal the Phat is a much better piece of hardware, slim built to cut costs and expand market, has reduced functionality this is only around £50 more than an elite if you factor in the various software offers so if you want a PS3 this is a great deal.

Having purchased a slim lately, its as quiet as the Wii even in games, and uses less than half the power consumption of the older PS3s (news.cnet.com/830…tml). As for build quality, it seems rather solid so far with no complaints across the board.

If you're noise sensitive, I would still consider getting a slim version, otherwise, damn good deal.

Hot from me too. I have the old Phat and it does feel like a much more premium bit of kit.
Only other thing to consider is that the Phat uses a lot more electricity than the new Slim models do (upto twice the amount), so if you play a lot its something to consider...

you are comparing a slim with the very old 60gb. The difference between the 80gb and a slim in terms of power consumtion is 34% according to Sony.

hot from me....good deal! phat or slim who really cares!

Any receipt, Will vote Hot is there is any proof?????????

why is the bread bin better than the thin? Just because of PS2 games compatibility?

Any other advantages?

Cheers

better off waiting for the slim to go down to 199 again

Why does everyone love the slim ?

It's the same thing more or less

I'm told that the Slim Version is the better console... It won't overheat like a few older BIG PS3's have done.. I don't think the build quality would be any different either... Its a SONY product. Not tesco's own brand..

THANKS FOR THE INFO. I WAS LOSING SLEEP!

My 60GB PS3 just packed in so I've got a slim now and the quality seems very good to me, its very quite and hopefully more reliable.

This deal is excellent though.

All these people talking about power consumptions have probably no idea how much it is actually costing them to run their PS3. I worked it out and I think I would save about £5 a year if I changed to a Slim. Really not worth it.

Hey guys,

Just got off the phone to the Customer Support seems they don't have any details whatsoever of the deal. Could that be because it's instore only? I really want to assure myself that it's instock at my local before making a trip.
