A ten-second search on their website revealed not;
"Free 1 year guarantee"

It was £229 Online at John Lewis until they Sold Out about 1-2 weeks ago, so i dont doubt this at all.

Thanks for this "Never knowingly undersold" will price match if found cheaper plus excellent customer service if there's a problem:)

a great find

Great high street price voted hot. Argos for me still has the best deal with a £10 voucher effectively making it £235 with 2 games but when that ends this will be the best high street deal out there. Such as shame Game still charges full whack for their consoles, even HMV has better bundles at the moment.

Where is the £10 voucher with Argos ?

The Argos deal looks better than John Lewis, but Argos in Speke are showing that Prince of Persia is out of stock...wonder if they will still honour this deal ?

Time to flog my 60GB PS3 me thinks...

heated

you still pay £245 or £249 - save £10 on your next spend. and the games can be had brand new from ebay for around £20 - this, to me, is a better deal if you're not looking to spend much and dont have interest in the games that argos do.

That's correct, the £10 voucher is off your next spend but it's valid for a year and £235 (if you factor in the £10) with 2 platinum games still seems like good value to me.

Here's a link as posted on here - looks like the offer ends today so be quick.

It's available in store too, I thought it was a good deal with the two games so getting a £10 voucher was a right billy bonus.

I did reply to this but it doesn't seem to have gone up, hopefully the mods will approve it as it contained a link to the deal on this site. To let you know the Argos £10 voucher deal ends today and I got mine in store and it's a £10 voucher off of a future purchase.

If a game's not in stock Argos are quite good at giving you have a deal and letting you come back for an item when it's in stock, or at least that's been my experience.

Personally I'd hang on to the 60GB, it's a much better machine than the Slim and believe it or not it's quieter too. 2nd hand it's also worth the same or more than a new Slim.

I went down to Argos and got the Slim deal with PoP & Far Cry 2. It was indeed £244.95, but the £10 voucher ended yesterday. Incidentally, the PS3 deal ends today as well !

Wow, i was quite jammy. I tried to buy £100 worth of vouchers to receive the £10 down old kent rd branch (it was the only place that had the Farcry2 and POP in stock) only to be told you couldn't do that anymore. So I popped to another branch and asked if they did it. The manager said its fine but only once per customer.

So having got the £100 voucher plus £10 on top I went back to the old kent road branch to pick up the ps3 for £245 and also got a £10 voucher in return. so overall i paid £225. Not too shabby eh?

In my opinion it is better to buy something like this from John Lewis than Argos or Toys R Us, even if it does end up costing an extra tenner, their customer service is worth having.

cool thanks

It probably depends on the store, though at least with John Lewis you're guaranteed good service but if you're a member Costco wins hands down, every time.

Yes I have heard that. I wonder if you could clarify whether I would be allowed a membership there, I am a trainee teacher. I have looked on their website and at some other forums and everyone is saying different things.

they'd probably be happy to sell you an extended warranty, but most things should be covered under household insurance
