Yeah wait for something that is nothing but rumours.

I also heard next week xbox one release it's new slim version for £4.99 with 5 x performance of any pc and also comes with a 8k tv which also comes with anything you can think of. Rumours = Facts

Have some heat, think i'm going to go for the uncharted console though looks good in blue

is this the latest model?

The rumours are very very likely though cause the VR needs a better spec console to run more powerful games, im in two minds to get the newer model or buy an older model!!

I just bought a PS4 myself after more than 10 years after my last console (PS2), right before the PS4.5 rumours got much more real, and I'm not that **** off (IF they really don't make exclusive games for the latest model).

It's just like when you are about buy an S6 and they announce an S7 so you decide to wait and so on, vicious circle of waiting in technology.

Considering that in my opinion the PS4 real lack is in games more than in raw power I am not willing to wait another year and a half for the new model to go down in price just to play the same games with a bit more details and some more fps.

The PS4.5, or Neo, or whatever it ends up being called, won't make that much of a difference to most buyers I don't think. Rumours seem to indicate that its main benefits will be a slight power bump and 4K capability, which isn't going to have me rushing out to replace me existing console.

I think it's mainly going to be of interest to VR enthusiasts, which is likely going to be a fairly niche market.

Slightly more than slight, looking at the specs.

Are the specs out there now? I thought it was all rumour at this point.

Either way, the difference it makes to gamers like me is only going to be slight, given that the old and new consoles will be sharing a common software library. Which is a smart choice I think - fracturing the market would be bad for Sony (and I speak from experience as a former Sega 32X owner!).

Thanks for that. Consensus in the article seems to be that it's a slight boost, and good for VR/4K enthusiasts, but probably not something that's going to make an upgrade for existing users particularly worthwhile.

My hope is that it will allow games to run at 60fps. My fear is that they keep games running at 30fps but with better graphics settings which are minimal in impact.

dont bury your head in the sand ps4 neo is coming.sept oct 2016 before psvr is out. youll be stuck with your **** regular version. lol.

just got one for 149

I'll just sell my current PS4 and get the neo when it releases. It cost me £10 to get the quieter model last year after selling the previous one. I can't imagine the price difference is going to be that huge looking at those specs (pretty disappointing specs if im honest, but not surprising as Sony can't risk alienating base PS4 owners).

Yep just what I expected, sony fangirls fighting over console power. Hypocritical that these same fangirls complain when PC gamers come in talking about the power and price difference between their rigs and consoles.

Not going to be THAT different if a new console is indeed on it's way. What they gonna do? Alienate those 30 or 40 million people who have already forked out for a console? Add to that, devs aren't going to cater for 5 or 6 consoles (X1, X1.5, PS4, PS4.5, PC and maybe the new Nintendo). The power will more than likely be reserved to power the VR and video play back (Movies, not games). A truly more powerful console would cost in the region of £700 and even that's being conservative when you consider the extra cost both MS and Sony charge for a skanky 500GB.

It's hilarious what people are expecting with the new rumored updated consoles. Both MS and Sony still struggle with 60/1080p never mind what sort of things some people are expecting. Both will probably not even get 4k with their next consoles (PS5 and the Xbone 2)

We all know what happened when the ps3 released with a £600+ price tag...

Fortunately Sony recovered for the ps3 to surpass the RRoD ridden 360. But if this "ps4k" (initially rumoured by Kotaku, gamings equivalent of the Sun newspaper) is real, with this "upgrade" mentality casual gamers (who make up the majority of the gaming audience) could be put off from buying consoles.

Cold, shopto will probably send out a PS3 with the wrong game and call you a liar. Their service is the worst. Been burned and never again.

If you want one get it from amazon for the same price as post 11 mentions.

If concerned about PS4K stick with PS3 and get the Nintendo NX. Variety is the spice of life.

Just bought a different bundle off them, worst service ever! Sent us the wrong thing twice... not happy at all & will never buy from them again.

Heat added OP, nice find!

For those that are unsure and are potentially put off by the comments about ShopTo as providers - don't be! I've used them many times, through their own site and through others (eBay, Rakuten) and have never had a problem. Quite the opposite, in fact - speedy delivery times and cheap prices!

If these rumours are true I think it's to respond to the NX reveal at E3.

I agree, I think the NX's big reveal was to be just a bit more powerful than the PS4 and Sony won't allow that to happen. Plus Sony need more power for stable framerates at 1080p and for their VR. It is also a good excuse to add a 4K UHD player as motivation to sell more units in the same way the PS3 lifted Blu-Ray. I would be a bit annoyed if I just bought a PS4 as I guess the PS4K will be an attractive package and knowing you can only play at 30fps when the 'new' one hits 60fps will annoy a lot of people but on the other hand Nintendo games have always been more fun in my opinion and I am looking forward to their reveal.

Normally I'd have same opinion regarding rumours, waiting for new console, etc, however at this point it's much more real than just rumours,it has been discussed and almost confirmd by legit websites such as giantbomb, and even the exact specs have been published.

PS4 and Xnox One were both underpowered even on launch, and definitely need a boost, the PS4 Neo will not have any exclusive game but it will provide higher frame rate and higher resolution,it will be faster and all these are very noticeable and important.

so yeah, buying the current model is a probably mistake at this point for majority of people.

That's akin to saying, "if it's in a newspaper, it must be true". Nothing has been released by Sony - nothing. Baffling why anyone would claim it's more than a rumour when that's all it is, a rumour. Unless you have something official, which i assume you don't, then aye, it's just a rumour that's grown legs.

Ok,whatever,so you don't find any difference between rumours made by bored teenagers imagination on internet vs info discussed by professional game reviewing websites which they themselves got from legit sources and game developers, even when they publish the exact details..

I really don't mean this in an insulting manner, but you're either being naive or living in your own little bubble. Gaming websites talk pish, they're like every other form of journilistic media. What makes them any different? It's all speculation at best. Until Sony release something offical I have no idea why you or anyone can claim it to be anything but. I'm not saying there may not be any truth in what's being discussed, but even those websites can't claim to be certain, so I have no idea why you would think you yourself are in a position to go that extra yard and state it's not speculation/rumour.

Don't really see where this is going as I've made myself clear.

1) I said it may turn out to be true. Never once said it's all pie in the sky and i did clearly state it may indeed turn out to be true.

2) Until official conformation, actual details straight from Sony, then yes, everything you're reading is mere rumour or speculation. That's how it works with every other story, not just in this case.

I seriously have no idea why you can't wrap your head around what I'm saying. You seem to be blinded by the fact that because gaming websites have discussed it, then it must be true. No scope for error and so on. I mean, IGN once stated that Sony exclusive (forgot the name) had been binned, only for Sony to come out and rubbish it. Gaming websites regularly speculate about upcoming consoles and what they entail and they're almost always wrong in some capacity.

Ive finally found people who don't just blindly accept rumours as fact
