Days Gone is an open-world action game set in the high-desert of the Pacific Northwest two years after a mysterious global pandemic has decimated the world, killing most but transforming millions into mindless, feral creatures. Survivors live in a world where resources are scarce, violence and murder are common and Freakers roam the wilderness.

Players face this violent, new world as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter, a Drifter who lives in the lawless wilderness outside the civilian encampments. Deacon survives by using skills learned before the world ended, riding for the Mongrels MC, an outlawed motorcycle club, where violence and mayhem were part of the riding the open road.

At the center of it all, Days Gone is an exploration of how any of us would react to these harsh conditions, and exploration of loss, love, friendship, revenge and desperation – learning that surviving isn’t living. For Deacon especially, it’s a struggle to ensure that hope never dies.

Developed by Bend Studio, Days Gone is in development exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

Inching to that £20 biting point 😏
I’ll bite at £20, waited this long so I might as well wait some more.

Wait for the PS5 enhanced version then it might have a decent framerate

It's got a decent frame rate on the PS4 Pro.
I was gonna wait for £20 but this is close enough with the few reward points I’ve accumulated. Thanks OP

Just finished this and enjoyed it. I think its a lot better than most reviews suggest, it does have a few rough edges and production wise its a fair bit behind what we usually get from Sony studios.

Nope still dips, got a Pro and had the game.
Great thanks OP, been waiting for this or RDR2 to drop to the £25 mark - ordered

It's mainly good on the Pro, but the FPS does get choppy when riding around sometimes. Doesn't ruin the experience.
I picked a mint condition (£33 off eBay)steel-book edition of this game........meant to be for Christmas but I want to play it NOW

Heat given though 🏻

Starting to see more and more performance issues on the base consoles. Borderlands 3, Control and this one. Signs we’re reaching the limits of the current hardware or sloppy coding/optimisation ?

Well the hardware is 6 years old and games are getting more and more advanced with greater demand on high quality graphics etc.
Steelbook edition anywhere?
This game is brilliant. Well worth the price.
Very good game for whoever is interested I hated it in the beginning and then I couldn't stop playing it . It's definitely a grower

Still the best game I've played in ages
Come ON £20!!! I can't wait to add it to my backlog

Work fine on my pro
It’s a bit crap really. If I could get someone to take it for twenty quid I’d think I’d mugged them.
Heat for the price as it's the best around but I really couldn't get into it. Played for 12 hours and was losing the will to live with it. Had great potential but was poorly executed.

The start is very slow, and bike is awful until you upgrade the fuel tank. But the story become very engrossing about half way through. Once you have a good bike, powerful weapons and plenty of skill upgrades it's a lot of fun to take on the hordes. I think they just tried to pad it out too much at the start.
Itching for the £10 biting point. Hopefully soon as most single player games drop rapidly

I mean I've a Pro too and not really noticed any dips that have affected anything (Unlike Control which turns to a slide show)

"In terms of performance, though, testing right now is still in its early days as patch 1.03 - said to include base PS4 improvements - only arrived recently. However, based on initial impressions, the Pro delivers a mostly locked 30fps with consistent frame-pacing and only very occasional, mostly minor slowdown. It's not a perfect turn-out, but even a Horde onslaught delivers a level, sustained 30fps."

PS4 (vanilla) was only mid:highish end PC laptop spec at launch in 2013.
it is positively potato powered these days.

Am not slagging it off, it is just a fact. The fact that it punches above its weight as much as it does is impressive imo. I own a Pro for the exclusives and some of them really are top notch.

The strength of the PS4 has always been the exclusive IP on it, and it was good despite the hardware imo not because of it. The Pro is slightly better.......
Can see this being lower on Black Friday.
It's on PlayStation now. Can get a free trial if not had ps now before too. If ya got a week spare could finish it for free. Loads of new games been added too so check it out.

I have only had framerate drops towards the very end of the game in two areas- both on the bike. Riding through a camp and a really rough burnt out building. The game is right up my alley, so I think it is excellent. I can see why others wouldn't enjoy aspects of it, there is a lot of bike maintenance and crafting things can be a bit of a chore. It is well worth £25 brand new.
Fair price for a good timesink game. Only worth it if you're planning to play in the near future, it's not worth it to add to a pile of shame! If repetition bugs you then you won't enjoy this though, a lot of the missions are very similar.
I'm playing on a regular PS4 and it does look lovely, the draw distance can get a bit choppy when on your bike. If you can ignore that then it's a good game to chip away at, for me definitely better than it's review scores.

I like the little touches like the camp staff speaking more friendly to you as your trust rating improves.
I do wish it had added depth e.g. the camps always have an supply of ammo and fuel for you to buy from them. Never any sense of scarcity other than the mechanic quipping "We're gonna run out of fuel someday"!

You'd need to play it every hour of the day to finish it and do it justice.

It's not on PS Now. GTA V, God of War, InFamous Second Son and Uncharted 4 were recently added, though.
