Days Gone is an open-world action game set in the high-desert of the Pacific Northwest two years after a mysterious global pandemic has decimated the world, killing most but transforming millions into mindless, feral creatures. Survivors live in a world where resources are scarce, violence and murder are common and Freakers roam the wilderness.

Players face this violent, new world as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter, a Drifter who lives in the lawless wilderness outside the civilian encampments. Deacon survives by using skills learned before the world ended, riding for the Mongrels MC, an outlawed motorcycle club, where violence and mayhem were part of the riding the open road.

At the center of it all, Days Gone is an exploration of how any of us would react to these harsh conditions, and exploration of loss, love, friendship, revenge and desperation – learning that surviving isn’t living. For Deacon especially, it’s a struggle to ensure that hope never dies.

Developed by Bend Studio, Days Gone is in development exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

Game Features

Expansive Open World Action – Exemplifying truly free-form gameplay, Days Gone offers freedom to explore, strategize and play “your way” in the vast high-desert of the Pacific Northwest. The hazardous environments, filled with carved out ridges, mountains, caves, cliffs mines and river basins, deliver a breathtaking backdrop to an equally diverse style of gameplay.

Emergent Gameplay – Featuring fully explorable environments and dynamic AI enemies, players will rely on their own abilities to strategize, craft weapons and tools, explore the world, and engage in combat. With almost every car, building and environment searchable, Days Gone delivers emergent gameplay possibilities, making a player’s approach to combat and discovery a vital part of the experience.

Stunning, Dynamic Graphics – Using the power of PlayStation 4 and Unreal Engine 4, Bend Studio has developed a high volume of rendering and gameplay technology to deliver an incredibly realistic open world experience. Realistic weather effects, such as rain, wind, snow and day-night cycles impact the gameplay. The game’s lighting is all real-time and reacts dynamically, the way the human iris does, as players move from one location to the next.

Just finished the story. Going for the plat now. It's a really, really good game.

Though it annoys me why no one drives cars?

Oooo, this may be the price I finally bite. Thanks
Crikey, that month flew by
I personally loved this game. Loved taking down hordes.
Brilliant game, loved it u til I had to take o a hoard and I couldn't :-(
Thought it was great for a while then boredom set in, just feels like it's all side quests
Good game, finished it yesterday and it kept me interested till the end unlike a lot of open world games.
Jumped in after platinuming Odyssey. The gameplay reminds me of Evil Within 2 but more grounded and with a nice crafting system and open world to explore. I'm sure it might get repetitive but I tell you what, Odyssey got 9s and 10s and that game is literally *get quest to kill person* *trade in for xp* *repeat*.

At least in 2 hours of days gone I'm intrigued by the characters I've met so far.
Love it, great game
Playing this right now. It's so good!
Been this price for a while at gamecollection

Haha, for a second I thought you wrote 'talking down'. Happen upon a horde of freakers and you're like "come on guys, calm down, stop this silliness!".
I thought this was great for a while, but it got a bit samey eventually.
An open world ‘last of us’ without the high quality story.
Does anyone know if this is a UAE copy (has a yellow dot above age rating) that Game Collection sell or is there no yellow dot? Many thanks

No need to lampoon them. I think you know what they're trying to say. Plenty of games are fun to begin with but become boring, grindy and repetitive very quickly. Like all looter shooters and many open world action adventure games these days. I've stopped playing basically all of Ubisoft's major franchises for that reason.

Plenty of games that keep things fresh and frequently throw new shit into the mix at intervals. Most metroidvania games are like that.

I recently played Yakuza 0, which is the first I've played in that series. I was really impressed at how varied the missions were. It felt like you're doing something new (and often bizarre) each time. Like half way through the game, suddenly you can run a cabaret club and it's incredibly deep and satisfying. Then towards the end of the game you can plough hours into a MMA fighting club. Not to mention all of the mini games.

Another good example is Stardew Valley. First you're chopping wood, crop farming and maybe a bit of fishing. Then you're cooking. Then you're mining. Then you're rearing animals. Then you're getting married, having kids and extending your house. Then (in my case) you build a vast wine empire and make $5m a year.

From a gameplay perspective, NieR Automata is constantly switching up the mechanics. That game is variously a 3rd person hack and slash, top down shooter, bullet-hell, side-scrolling brawler with some platforming elements and probably others I've forgotten.

It's perfectly legit to point out the games that blow their load too early and fail to keep things fresh.

Yeah that bothered me too. Especially when the bikes are extremely noisy! Would be nice to plough into a hoard with a dumper truck.

If you've only got a few tricks up your sleeve it's probably best you don't last 50 hours...that's how some games feel less 'samey' than others. This one I reckon has pacing issues.

I just loved running the club in Yakuza 0. A game all on it's own but with plenty of depth and getting ready for opening was a lot of fun, even tweaking the hostess' outfits for extra "power". Party time!!
Love this game.. Slow burner but the pace picks up quite nicely. Does get a little bit repetitive. Liken this to walking dead meets the last of us.

I liked the idea of the original tech video with all the zombies, but the game isn't much like that :/ I just wish'd they made a different game, it reminds me of Mafia 3, so much potential, but you end up doing repetitive formulaic crap all the time... just boring.
1 of the best games on the Ps4 granted at 1st it does seem like the story is a bit generic and going nowhere and you are just running errands for the 2 camps but as soon as you hit a certain point in the story the game blows you away it made sure I wanted to see how it ended and then afterwards wanted to do the extra bits.
Not a bad price at all, decent enough game, good amount of hours to pour into it, heat added.
My favourite PS4 game, well worth the money.

It was bloody great! I mean that game is fantastic in general, and I was very sceptical to start with. I found 'training' the platinum hostesses a bit boring, but managing the roster and actually running the club was incredibly fun. I also enjoyed the real estate management with Kiryu but not as much.

Exactly, that game felt the same as this like it's all side quests or some crappy dlc i gave up on mafia 3 like I've given up on this now

Don't spoil the game for others because your attention span isn't good enough for these sort of games. Stick with fortnite, less attention span needed for that champ.

I think you are the only helmet here bro,

pretty lame to be posting spoilers!
Will wait til its a tenner.
The only game to drag me away from the witcher, like has been said starts slow, but then you'll want to see how Deacons story pans out....great game, great price..heat

TEL.
The best game I played this year
got the platinum cleared all the Hordes.
got the free Avatar for finishing the game
Still not received the free theme for getting the platinum trophy anyone else got there theme?
Just as an update to the only being able to ride bikes SCANDAL...

If you play challenge mode, you can ride a golf cart. In a highly entertaining Crazy Taxi clone, complete with appropriate 1990s type music. Give it a go, it's good fun.
