That all depends on your tastes really.
Well it's time to set how empty Destiny 2 is, thanks Buzz

More of a nostalgia game, for those with fond memories
Wow, I didn't expect Destiny 2 to drop this quickly!

I'd say no. It's more about nostalgia. Not knocking it, it's amazing game but very old school in terms of mechanics. Probably annoy the hell out of new players. That's just my opinion
Evil within 2 gets my approval. Playing the first one as it was in the Dec psn sale. Really enjoying it, will definitely be getting the sequel

That's what loosing 85% of your player base does. Worth it for the campaign at this price though.

I did guess it was because of that... thanks for the campaign recommendation though, I did wonder about that side of it.
Destiny 2 has had a bit of a revival on PS4 since they patched the game adding lots of requested features such as weapon and armour upgrading, special weapon quests etc.
The Osiris expansion is also fun and actually represents good value as you have a fun single player campaign, adventure quests, good new areas to explore and while Mercury area isnt huge it is interesting and theres lots of enemies everywhere (and the new raid is much better than the 1st).

The original versions are better. I didn't like the remake at all.

I am quite surprised Destiny 2 has plumetted in price, does anyone know why? This game seems to be overhyped.

Some mentioned in a earlier post they lost something like 80% of player base within in 2 weeks, but from what people say it's worth it for this price for the campaign.

I'm not put off by older games - still play original PSX games on PS2/PS3 - so old mechanics aren't an issue, but it does seem odd that they seem to have used clunky old mechanics in what is essentially a brand new game, as it's a remake rather than a remaster, and the reviews seem to have picked on that as an issue as well, so I'm thinking if I'm ever going to play Crash Bandicoot I might as well just get the original - either a disc copy that will run on my PS2 or PS3 or just buy it digitally for PS3 on the Playstation Store.

What did they do to lose 80% of the userbase for Destiny 2? Its funny cos Destiny was like the surprise hit early on the in 2014 and people were obsessed over the game.

I'm not too sure it's just what someone else posted here , I think a lot of older players didn't like the changes and there wasn't a lot to do.
Pretty sure a lot of people were complaining about the Loot Box system in Destiny and how the Eververse worked. The Paid Updates/Expansions introduced more content that was locked behind further Loot Box Paywall systems.

Pretty much doing an EA but on another level.

No no I do know why, it has gone to pot for them completely but even still I'm surprised at how quick it has dropped - other games that flop don't always drop this quickly, especially big franchises, so to see it at 15 pounds already is just crazy!

FWIW, the next expansion is due out in March, so there should/ might be a new version out by then, like they did in D1 with The Taken King. Just a thought. I’ll be holding out until then.
Sorry for the long post... Ive been a D1 player since the beta and id hate to calculate how much time ive spent/wasted playing. The obvious progression was onto D2 but it just doesn't feel the better at all. There are a lot of things I do like but vastly more things I dont. Its been massively dumbed down for casual gamers who will probably play the campaign and then not bother with any of the end game content (Which is what the core players want more of). I miss the 'punch the air' moments from D1 with my mates. First time completions of VoG and CE etc. Dropping Vex, Fatebringer, Gjallahorn. Quality clutches in PvP by the skin of your teeth. Exotic side quests that were actually fun and on occasion difficult.

There just seems to be nothing to aim for. You can max level cap quickly where in D1 you would need to complete the hardest tasks to get the high end gear, often having to wait for the weekly reset for another try. Skill trees are nigh on static so you cant choose different load outs for different encounters. Again, casual gamers perfect for this model but what about the 20% just barely hanging in there. There's a massive raft of posts on bungie.net about removing Eververse and the real money system which seems ever present in new games. Finally, and probably most important for the fans, is Bungie's ignorance towards the fanbase. They have lied to the core of fans that would have been likely to stick with the game and manipulated scenarios where they've been caught red handed. Just my 2p worth but ive gone from a clan of 35 active players to 3 or so a week.

I've never seen Crash PS4 described as a 'remake', it's always been labelled 'remastered'.

It's somewhere in between - the developer actually called it a 'Remaster Plus'.
A remaster would be taking the original game - all of its original source code and assets - rewriting bits of it to get it to run on the new platform if necessary, replacing the textures with higher resolution versions, adding new effects and generally tweaking things to improve it, like adding widescreen support, squashing bugs, etc. Whereas a remake would be building a recreation of the game from scratch, probably even with a new game engine.
The N. Sane Trilogy does use a new game engine and almost none of the original source code was used, as they couldn't find a way to port it to the PS4, but they did stick to all of the original levels' geometry to recreate it as accurately as possible. So on a technical level it's a remake but it ends up playing like a remaster - although I've seen complaints that the new game engine's physics make Crash jump differently to how he used to, which is sometimes at odds with the level design.

I've not researched it as much as you seem to have, thanks for the input, but I stand by my earlier statement - nowhere have I seen this described as a 're-make', I've only seen it described/advertised as a 're-master'.
anyone else had there order cancelled ?

The game has nothing from the originals and had to built from the ground up which means its a remake.

He may be right in whats he's saying, he seems more researched on the subject than me, hence why I thanked him

Still doesnt make me wrong though per se, I simply stated, and I quote ; 'I've never seen Crash PS4 described as a 'remake', it's always been labelled 'remastered'.

Whether it's a re-make or re-master doesnt make me wrong as I simply stated what I've seen it described as, and linked Sony's own website to verify what I've read/seen.
