Wait. Is this the n64 version? Isn't this version absolutely terrible.

doom 64 is it’s own game. Many doomheads rate this game very very very highly.

I bought it and whilst it's a good price, it's a pretty bad game

Agreed.

Not played this port but have played on PC, it's great & up there with 1&2, many believe the real DOOM 3!

Has this been tarted up for PS4 or is it a straight conversion of the N64 game?

No. Absolutely not! It’s a great game and well worth £1.99

It basically is doom three but they wanted to call it doom64 for obvious reasoning.. doom three is a reboot of sorts or I suppose technically a prequel affair. All great games in their own right. The original doom game still stands as the greatest game of all time and will never be superseded as also possibly the most important game release of all time!

100%, I really like doom 3, a lot. Never understand why it gets so much hate. It is different but different isnt always bad.

These doom titles - all having been under 2 quid now - are some of the best value games of recent years - especially with all their extra content from orignal releases.

Not tarted up really.... very honest to original but optimised for the systems and tweaks plus additional content not sure what doom 64 has but first two had loads of levels from the community and some lost levels and all sorts thrown in.

It got hate because it could never live up to the expectations of the fan base.. it was the modernised retelling of the greatest game of all time so those were big boots to fill and doom 3’s feet just weren’t big enough.. that’s not to say that it was a bad game but it was seen as a missed opportunity by probably everyone waiting it didn’t have the same feel or speed as the original and as much as I was somewhat disappointed when it landed I still enjoyed the game I just wish it had been so much more..

Doom64 has extra content too.. I loved playing through this again having not touched it since the N64 was the bee’s knees..

I've been playing it on Switch and think it's cracking - much better than expected.
Just working my way through Doom (2016), at level 10 and thoroughly enjoying it. Well worth the money with loads of stuff to collect and small ruin side challenges.
Bad games

"...the greatest game of all time" always best to put IMO after statements like that

The fact that it’s my opinion is purely coincidental.. all things considered.. it IS the greatest game of all!
