Well I think its a decent price....My only concern would be, I bought two at release and one is already feeling very grainy on the thumbstick......Not sure they are robust enough,,,,may wait for the second coming.....

Hot from me though...

Perfect price for a second controller. Heat added.

I got rid of my spare controllers in the new year, I am glad I did. Cheers OP

I'm on to my 3rd one of these. The original one that came with the PS4 has the ORB pads on now, the 2nd one I sent back and got a refund and the 3rd one that I purchased in March has worn away on the left analogue stick already.

Very poor materials used, especially considering how robust the Xbox One sticks are.

Come on Sony, get your rubber act together!!

I'd recommend changing the thumbsticks over for the Xbox One ones. Bit of DIY on your part and they fit perfect. The Xbox One thumbsticks are much better than these. You can pick up a pair from eBay for less than £10.

Yeah I'm tempted to do this myself really, but given that my PS4 came from John Lewis, any problems that I have in the first two years with them and they will get returned.

Literally just ordered one for £40@Gamestop about half hour ago...

Great price OP

George is fine, but I'm a little concerned as to what Freddy has been using his for..

Great price if you get one in perfect condition

Might be ok if they're refurbs, but ad doesn't state that anywhere. Owner prob got rid of the things cos of dodgy left stick!

I do like a bit of DIY.............will look into it if Amazon won't play ball......
Strange how I have 2, both with equal use (ish) and one is perfect one went within a couple of months....
Gonna pick up watchdogs later today, so i guess I'll need both

For dishonest people like me, surely if one came and the sticks were messed up etc then surely we could just get sony to replace them using the warranty on our consoles. There's no way of telling they have been bought second hand is there?

We should all have an original purchase reciept. That's all they need, when my console got returned all they asked was where I had purchased it from.

cheers op very much appreciated!

great news no problem to replace them ? they fit and work perfectly ?

Sony will claim wear and tear.

Good price for a 2nd controller.

Could buy thumb covers? Even Argos sell them!

I got thumb grips from Gameseek for 99p and can recommend trying those out if you don't want those nasty thumbsticks wearing out.

I want to buy it but then I don't have anyone who would've it.

I have had my PS4 since December, probably just a couple of weeks after release, and read about problems with early PS4 Dualshocks rubber wearing.

Admittedly I have not used my PS4 extensively but I personally have not had this problem. Either there must be batches of weak rubber, people are heavy on their thumbs on the pads or dread to think some people have dodgy chemicals in their skin that corrodes them quicker!

After my thread on here reviewing and modding the Gioteck Wii U Controller with PS3 thumbsticks I have no qualms in replacing mine on my PS4 should they give, I understand though it is a worry to some PS4 users that would break out in a cold sweat to even consider taking electronics apart.

I have not tried Xbox One analogue sticks, but I do prefer an all rubberised top like on both the PS3 and PS4 sticks, one of the reasons I swapped over from the less rubbery feel of the Gioteck controller, which felt more to me like the more plastic feel of the Xbox 360 analogue sticks.

Plenty of replacement PS3, PS4 and Xbox One sticks on eBay for anywhere between £2-£5

Probably a silly question but are these compatible with the ps3, I'm sure I read somewhere they were? I know they won't support all features but do they support the basics of the normal ps3 pads?

all buttons work except the playstation home button i think. so could cause a bit of hassle

The description on Play now says

Comment: BOX MAY BE MISSING , LEFT THUMB STICK IS WORN BUT CONTROLLER IS WORKING PERFECT .

Guess they have just one left in stock now, bit of an odd comment to be generic.

I honestly think with batches of controllers having worn sticks over the next few months there will be quite some bargains cropping up on eBay for any of us not phased by taking them apart, giving them a good clean up and replacing the sticks.

I may be wrong and a simple google search will no doubt give the answer but I thought to support the ps3 the controller had to be connected the whole time using a cable.

I think these look decent enough, says nothing about them being official or not but they look nearly identical to me, and they are from the UK.

Thanks. managed to get one

For those that are interested in swapping for the Xbox One thumbsticks, these are the same ones I used, from the same seller. For reference, see the above photo of the red controller.

Had bad experience buying second hand controllers many time before lol good price but think I'm all set on new controllers now on

The only tricky bit was prizing apart the controller after you take out the screws, as it's held together by clips. Be a little forceful. Have a look at video guides. And be careful when taking the two pieces away from each other, sometimes the trigger buttons get in the way, possibly coming off. But they're easily put back in place, albeit fiddly.

has this deal now gone as the link seems to be broken?
