Hot from me though...
Very poor materials used, especially considering how robust the Xbox One sticks are.
Come on Sony, get your rubber act together!!
I'd recommend changing the thumbsticks over for the Xbox One ones. Bit of DIY on your part and they fit perfect. The Xbox One thumbsticks are much better than these. You can pick up a pair from eBay for less than £10.
Yeah I'm tempted to do this myself really, but given that my PS4 came from John Lewis, any problems that I have in the first two years with them and they will get returned.
Great price OP
Great price if you get one in perfect condition
Got mine from Amazon, do we think they will swap it????
I do like a bit of DIY.............will look into it if Amazon won't play ball......
Strange how I have 2, both with equal use (ish) and one is perfect one went within a couple of months....
Gonna pick up watchdogs later today, so i guess I'll need both
I like the cut of yo jib!
Do Sony not ask for receipts or some kinda proof of purchase? ... Cos I like the idea of this! lol
We should all have an original purchase reciept. That's all they need, when my console got returned all they asked was where I had purchased it from.
great news no problem to replace them ? they fit and work perfectly ?
Good price for a 2nd controller.
Could buy thumb covers? Even Argos sell them!
Admittedly I have not used my PS4 extensively but I personally have not had this problem. Either there must be batches of weak rubber, people are heavy on their thumbs on the pads or dread to think some people have dodgy chemicals in their skin that corrodes them quicker!
After my thread on here reviewing and modding the Gioteck Wii U Controller with PS3 thumbsticks I have no qualms in replacing mine on my PS4 should they give, I understand though it is a worry to some PS4 users that would break out in a cold sweat to even consider taking electronics apart.
I have not tried Xbox One analogue sticks, but I do prefer an all rubberised top like on both the PS3 and PS4 sticks, one of the reasons I swapped over from the less rubbery feel of the Gioteck controller, which felt more to me like the more plastic feel of the Xbox 360 analogue sticks.
Plenty of replacement PS3, PS4 and Xbox One sticks on eBay for anywhere between £2-£5
all buttons work except the playstation home button i think. so could cause a bit of hassle
Comment: BOX MAY BE MISSING , LEFT THUMB STICK IS WORN BUT CONTROLLER IS WORKING PERFECT .
Guess they have just one left in stock now, bit of an odd comment to be generic.
I honestly think with batches of controllers having worn sticks over the next few months there will be quite some bargains cropping up on eBay for any of us not phased by taking them apart, giving them a good clean up and replacing the sticks.
This. Im hearing they come in quite good nick, but is the comment referring to there last controller?
They have upped the price and changed description.
not all games , no vibrations , ps button and must be on cable.
Is it possible to get genuine Microsoft ones? Not sure the ones from Hong Kong etc will last.
I think these look decent enough, says nothing about them being official or not but they look nearly identical to me, and they are from the UK.
This is an OEM replacement part for a Microsoft Xbox One controller
For those that are interested in swapping for the Xbox One thumbsticks, these are the same ones I used, from the same seller. For reference, see the above photo of the red controller.
There are other genuine company thumbstivks for dualshock 4 better than Xbox one thumbstick forgot what's it called
The only tricky bit was prizing apart the controller after you take out the screws, as it's held together by clips. Be a little forceful. Have a look at video guides. And be careful when taking the two pieces away from each other, sometimes the trigger buttons get in the way, possibly coming off. But they're easily put back in place, albeit fiddly.
