If your PC has bluetooth DS4windows is pretty good. It also can hide the DS4 and make it seem like it's an Xbox controller so it's compatible with basicially all PC games with joypad support.

Does it work well? I just bought this adapter but thinking I might cancel it now.
Is this compatible with the 2015 MacBook Pro? Thanks.

Ds4windows can be a little picky with the bluetooth adapters it works with. It works flawlessly with the bluetooth adapter I already had(it's just a cheap one from ebay or amazon I forget which one).

If you don't already have a bluetooth adapter you may as well get this. You can still use DS4windows to make it compatible with all games that support a 360 controller. Also with steams built in support for DS4's compatibility is less of an issue but I found the steam support a little buggy the last time I tried it.
Ordered and heated. Is there any easy way to set this controller up so you can use the left stick or touchpad for the mouse pointer in games that aren't natively controller friendly e.g. point n click adventures or strategy games? Would make a nice cheap alternative to a steam controller if that could be done....
Does this work with the steam link?

EDIT: Seems you don't need anything extra to pair with the steam link!

Is this the same adaptor that comes with the headphones?
Cold, not an Amazon deal
Great price this.
haritori

My MAC pairs fine without this.

And works with Remote Play?
Dispatched already, that was fast

And works with Remote Play?

This was built for remote play primarily, from what i understand about it.

Sorry I should've been clearer. Without this adapter you can't use Remote Play with a DS4 wirelessly on a Mac
Thanks for this. Been looking at getting this recently. Even better is that I didn't realise I had £6 credit in my account

Sure I have a mouse on my main PC, but I have a second system I use in the living room as a HTPC. I use one of these with it: amazon.co.uk/Log…617 which is alright for basic duties but I just don't find it that comfortable for games that would normally use the mouse, don't think it quite has the accuracy or else I'm just too used to having a physical mouse vs tapping and thought a controller might 'feel' better for that kind of thing....

Ds4 windows lets you use the touchpad as a mouse. It's not very comfortable to use though a steam controller would be much better. It's also better for first and third person shooters. I generally only use the ds4 for games where you can use the dpad to move or twin stick shooters.

Agreed, have been doing this for a while. Though must say the crappy dongle I have has poor range and is quite flaky. DS4windows can be tricky to operate too. Tempted to get one of these to simplify the process.

Yeah Steam controller would be the ideal, but they never seem to enjoy much discount and the PS4 controllers are effectively free in my case with me already having a PS4. Yeah I think it will be good for twin stick shooters, which is one of my favourite genres, they are very hit and miss on the Xbox One controller thanks to the weird alignment/centering glitch it has where some games read the stick as constantly pressed in a direction. Not the controller as it works fine on an Xbox One and some PC games...
Great price, Heat!
Excellent price. Ps4 pad is now supported as a Bluetooth controller as standard. I use it all the time.

The best use for this is if you remote play on the PC and want to use the dualshock. 4 wirelessly.
Cheers, good find
Is this the same as using a xbox controller on pc? As in games will recognise the ds4 as a 360/x1 pad?

That is my understanding yes, in fact from what people say about native steam support and better Windows support and such it might be even better than the Xbox pad in Windows as though the 360 pad used to be really good for me there have always been some games that inexplicably do weird things with the Xbox One controller on. Like as I mentioned the centering of the sticks being screwed up, admittedly these were smaller indie titles not AAA games but they support the 360 pad so no reason the XB1 controller shouldn't work at least the same.
so this only works with the steaming services or dose it work with all games like the xbox controller?

A steam link pairs with a DS4 controller by itself?

yep the Steam link has built in bluetooth and that's what the DS4 uses

Thanks, in that case that's £9.85 saved for me.

I believe this can only connect one DS4 controller? Check before you buy.

Whereas a cheap bluetooth dongle I picked up for a few pounds (delivered) from Amazon using DS4 pairs a bunch of devices, I've used 2 DS4 controllers and one XBone controller at once on my machine. Steam will recognise the PS4 controller just fine for many games, and for others the slightly awkward DS4Windows does the trick.

Just make sure this is really what you want before you buy, videos and such. It wasn't the right thing for me.
