I think everyone who was excited for this remake already owns it.

Almost perfect. Few chapters were boring fillers and Aerith voice wish I could mute other then that great game.

Tifa out of 10.
If you have been thinking about this game stop thinking and just buy it so so good
Thought the demo was excellent but really wish they had an option for the original combat method; it’s the reason I’m not going to buy

Isn't there the means to turn it to turn based in the game?

I was a little unsure about the combat when I played the demo, but as I played the game it becomes incredibly intuitive. I can't get enough of the combat now.

Not fully no, it’s got elements of the original turn based combat but you still have to move around and attack

I’ve heard a lot of people say this but I’ve played the demo three times and just can’t get into the combat. Probably not helped by the fact I’m playing Chrono Trigger on the SNES at the mo!

You can play on Classic mode, this way characters will attack automatically and you are in charge of giving them the commands. But as BARKMAN said it won't feel like a fully turned base rpg, yet it is a great experience and I highly recommend it. Except for that final chapter I think the rest of game was made amazingly well with a lot of attention to the details.

yeah final chapter has been panned by most quarters, think they need to think about chopping it and starting the next installment following the original story
Does this code work on anything else?

It’s a great game. Well worth picking up to support the continuation of the story

Agree with everything apart from Aeiris's voice. Overall, outstanding game.

The final chapter is what's made me more excited for the rest of the episodes than anything else in it. Really brave creative move by Square, and executed perfectly.

Think you may be in the minority mate
The new system is much better than the old dated turn based system it just takes some getting used to, especially the shortcuts.

Personally been looking forward to this since it was announced. Didn't want to pre-order as felt it prudent to wait on reviews given S-E's less than stellar output with FF games since PS3 - that said World of FF was good and I did enjoy FFXV but it was no Versus XIII and I was really disappointed in the cuts and changes, lack of story, etc. (moreso after announcing and cancelling Lunafreya's dlc). I make a point of never buying anything full price and this has been a full fifty quid since launch for the most part, just dropping a fiver recently.

Anyway, cant wait to get stuck in!
Completed this the other night, took just over 60 hours, well worth it at full price and a no brainer at this price imo.

Great game! Just achieved the platinum trophy on PS4 after almost 100 hours of game time! Playing this the 2nd time on hard mode was even more fun.

There’s literally a “classic” difficulty option.

I thought the same, have the demo 2 goes to try and get into it but just couldn't. I'll stick with the original on every other console I own.

It’s not the same combat as the original. Nearer to it than the standard mode but not the same.

Fair enough, I haven’t tried classic but the new system is fine when you get used to it. I’m enjoying the nostalgia trip with the modern twist.
