As Horizon Zero Dawn’s main protagonist Aloy, a skilled hunter, explore a vibrant and lush world inhabited by mysterious mechanized creatures. Embark on a compelling, emotional journey and unravel mysteries of tribal societies, ancient artifacts and advanced technologies that will determine the fate of this planet, and of life itself.
A Lush Post-Apocalyptic World
How have machines dominated this world, and what is their purpose? What happened to the civilization here before? Scour every corner of a realm filled with ancient relics and mysterious buildings in order to uncover your past and unearth the many secrets of a forgotten land.
Nature and Machines Collide
Horizon Zero Dawn juxtaposes two contrasting elements, taking a vibrant world rich with beautiful nature and filling it with awe-inspiring highly advanced technology. This marriage creates a dynamic combination for both exploration and gameplay.
Defy Overwhelming Odds
The foundation of combat in Horizon Zero Dawn is built upon the speed and cunning of Aloy versus the raw strength and size of the machines. In order to overcome a much larger and technologically superior enemy, Aloy must use every ounce of her knowledge, intelligence, and agility to survive each encounter.
Cutting Edge Open World Tech
Stunningly detailed forests, imposing mountains, and atmospheric ruins of a bygone civilization meld together in a landscape that is alive with changing weather systems and a full day/night cycle.
Earth is ours no more
Survive a new wilderness dominated by herds of fearsome machines, warring tribes and age-old secrets in an all-action RPG adventure from the makers of Killzone.
Harness the agility, cunning and deadly aim of Aloy − an expert hunter cast out from her tribe at birth – to defy overwhelming odds and turn deadly predators into defenseless prey.
Alone on your quest in an unforgiving, post-apocalyptic world, can you solve the riddle of your birth and bring to light the deepest and darkest mysteries of the ancient past?
Features
Gather primitive resources and fuse them with advanced tech to create deadly new weapons.
Explore a vast landscape of arid deserts, lush forests and snow-topped lands in unpredictable weather, day and night.
Hunt, run and hide from mechanized beasts of all shapes and sizes – each with different and unique abilities – and plan every move to out-think and out-fight them.

I bought the latest Tomb Raider from them a couple of weeks ago and it was fine
Yeah they've been doing that for years. Should be stated what version you get. Had plenty of Nordic stuff from them
Surprised to hear that they are normally very good, did you contact them? sure they would be happy to exchange it.
I think one or two people enjoyed playing as Lara Croft
Everywhere looks the same? I don't know how you can say that! I thought the environments were gorgeous and varied.
"who wants to play a female lead character anyway"... why not? I thought Aloy was pretty wooden and dull, but that had nothing to do with her gender, plus she was raised by a bloke of a similar personality so you can't blame her! What is it about a female protagonist that puts you off?
Perfectly entitled to your opinion on the game of course, sounds like you gave it a good go (I often don't last nearly as long as 10h in a game that's not grabbing me.
It does feel generic in many ways, the story is a bit convoluted and naff, and lots of the side missions are quite fetch-questy a la Ubisoft (it's got nothing on a proper RPG like Witcher 3). I was mostly blown away by the visuals and gameplay, particularly the interesting weapons and enemies and the consistently-satisfying, varied process of taking down the mechanical beasts. I liked many of the characters too, I thought Brin (the Banuk Shaman) was particularly hilarious.
Only just announced, and no release date. So I doubt it.
That happened to me as well, was just about to post a warning and saw this. I contacted Simply Games about it and in fairness to them they did offer a full refund if I returned it but I would need to pay the return postage.
Word... Was thinking of opting for the game at £25, but am just going to wait for either Black Friday or for the game to drop slightly lower. I'm in no rush anyway...
Same here, so I sent it back.
Good luck this price drop itself is temporary btw. Its selling really well so I guess it may stay that way for the summer.
It's somewhere in between The Witcher and Far Cry. 10 hours in so far and loving it.
One of the easiest fun plats on Playstation ever I think. Great game.
This game is bog standard. Completed on hard, doesn't come close to the quality of Witcher 3. Armour sets are boring, weapons are boring, enemies and quests are repetitive. A ton of the mechanics in the game are just pointless. I honestly have no idea how it's rated so well.
Think you do get a game like that every now and again. Rated so highly and loved by so many, for you to not like it. I am like that with yakuza 0, playing for about 4 hours and I don't like it, can't get on with it. Story is quite good, but the gameplay, scenery restrictions, fighting, language, graphics etc puts me off. Pretty much everything except for the story . Much prefer sleeping dogs which I loved.
Each for their own.
I don't like any of those games but I'm loving Horizon. Combat mechanics just make the game so playable.
women? people with a basic grasp of reality?
The controls are really well thought out, I enjoyed the game from start to end. It never got boring and always made me want to get deeper into the story.
Fantastic price for a fantastic game!
Sure dude you tell yourself that...
Mine also has Arab letters on the front. Also says that to be sold individually!
Being behind Witcher 3 can still be a great place to be though. If reviews gave this 9.5/10, maybe Witcher is 10++? More games like this I say!
you prob said that about fallout 4
