Just pick up and play it dude, it's got some of the tightest game mechanics and best story lines around, you won't regret it.

It's one of the best games I've ever played. I started it back in the days and struggled after an hour to carry on then picked it up later and boom! It is crazy. I'm going to buy the DLC and play the game from start again. It really is that good.

Same, got it for Christmas but yet to start it. Want to pick this DLC up but like you, hard to justify when I haven't even loaded up the main game yet.

The DLC in my opinion is really good - will provide you additional weapons and some challenges with new machines. And of course while no spoilers - will enhance the story with some further lore about the Banuk tribe. The graphics are also something to behold - even for a two year old game.

I should note however its not without its problems - in my opinion the addition of new the weapons will unfortunately 'break' the normal game and make the Thunderjaw fights incredibly trivial. On the other hand the balance between one of the newer machines is a tad off and comes off less as skill but more about attrition. Other than that a solid DLC, and is it worth under £6 - absoutely!

Really looking forward to HZD 2.

I got HZD on release, ended up playing for a solid 12 hours 30 minutes straight the same day (was streaming the game so had accurate time) it was just great, but then the switch came out two days later and I had been itching for a new zelda game for a good 6 years, so didn't touch HZD for a long time. I actually started a new playthrough around last december and couldn't have been happier with the game played through all of the main story (did try to get into the frozen wilds but was underlevelled so just waited until finishing main game to come back)

Currently about halfway through dlc, feels maybe a quarter size of the main game story, but with all the development in the main game feeding into it, makes the dlc feel more expansive than it may be, don't think I could measure it in hours just enjoyment. It takes an already great and expansive story and adds some extra layers of detail to the game, plus the new mechanics helps it to not just be more of the same game.

I really can't wait to see what happens with the sequel

you can definitely break the thunderjaw fights without the dlc, I like an area of the map with two of them next to each other, veyr easy to farm them
Heat added, want to play Horizon DLC but i sold my copy of the game so was going to buy the complete edition but heard the saves are different and dont want to play the whole game again.

So where is cheapest to pick up main game for me to also get the DLC on the download?

Musicmagpie had it for under a tenner a few weeks ago. Worth checking if they have any more stock.
HZD is such a good game, didn't see the hype at first but then the game opens up and I have been hooked. Just about to play the last 2 missions and that will be the Platinum trophy, can't wait to tackle the Frozen Wilds DLC.

Thought I would struggle to enjoy my next game after God of War (what a tremendous game) but HZD is right up there!

Same. I've not touched it, but I have it...
I just took the plunge. It's under £6 and it's been reviewed well.

I platinumed it and sold it about a month after release, then got the complete edition Christmas just gone and it is well worth it mate. Dead easy to pick back up again (took me about an hour to get the mechanics down again), and I got about 10 or so hours out of it. I forgot how much I missed that game.

Yep, I've already decided to get the DLC also will be looking forward to the sequel. The game was just a breath of fresh air to me, haven't played anything like it before - so immersive and story was very interesting, kept me wondering how it all is going to unravel. Can't wait to enjoy the DLC
