It's 1968 and the rules have changed.

After years of combat in Vietnam, Lincoln Clay knows this truth: family isn’t who you’re born with, it’s who you die for. Now back home in New Bordeaux, Lincoln is set on escaping a criminal past. But when his surrogate family, the black mob, is betrayed and wiped out by the Italian Mafia, Lincoln builds a new family on the ashes of the old and blazes a path of military-grade revenge through those responsible. Intense gun fights, visceral hand-to-hand combat, white knuckle driving and street smarts will all be needed. But with the right crew, tough decisions and some dirty hands, it’s possible to make it to the top of the city's underworld.

New Bordeaux - A Reimagined 1968 New Orleans. A vast, diverse and seedy open world ruled by the mob and corrupt officials and richly detailed with the sights, sounds and emotionally-charged social atmosphere of the era.

An Unintended and Lethal Anti-Hero. Be Lincoln Clay, an orphan and Vietnam veteran hell bent on revenge against the Italian Mafia for the brutal slaughter of the black mob, the closest thing to family he’s ever had.

Revenge Your Way. Choose your own personal play-style, from brute force and blazing guns to stalk-and-kill tactics as you use Lincoln's military training and gathered intel to tear down the Italian Mafia.

A New Family on the Ashes of the Old. Build a new criminal empire in your own unique way by deciding which of your lieutenants you reward and which you betray...

Picked this up a few weeks ago and it's a brilliant game. Might not be visually outstanding or on the scale of the Gta games but it's definitely worth playing. Also to add that I'm not a big fan of Gta or any open world games that have a lot of activity, it's too overwhelming for me but Mafia is the right amount of content to justify putting in the aquired hours to complete

Was actually going to ask as to whether it's a good game... I know it came out in an incomplete state, and was panned by the press, but just wanted to know if it's been "fixed" since... From the sounds of what you've stated, it was unfairly maligned... Maybe because it isn't GTA. Or Zelda for that matter... Both of which get an automatic pass as far as the Press are concerned.
I played the demo and the storyline was like a movie so ordered cheers op
Personally I found it such a disappointment... I really enjoyed the mafia 2.. but this was trying to be a GTA clone.. almost every single mission was repeated over and over and over... story was good and interesting but the gameplay lacked imagination and depth for me

I agree with the issues above on repetition and comparison to Mafia 2 (which was great). But at £15 this is a good buy. I'd say most people who play it would see it through until the end. Probably in the 'not game of the year but much better than my mate told me it was' category. And the season pass content is great so far, and will surely be cheap to pick up further down the line.

Meh... I think I'm going to wait. If only because my copy of Little Nightmares was dispatched today, and because my recently acquired copies of Tomb Raider and Hyper Light Drifter are still sitting on the shelf.

Too many games.
I'm tempted but I have too many games I need to get through

You really REALLY need to play Hyper Light Drifter!

Well if you have Tomb Raider that's 50 hours sorted right there!

I actually interviewed the developer behind the game... And bought the physical edition as soon as I found out (only a few days back, mind) that it would be getting a limited release.

Stick her in the trunk oO I'll get the shovel ...
Ordered, thanks Buzz
Nice one, thank you. At this price I'll take a punt on it. I know it didn't get the best reviews but I'm sure I'll get 15 quids worth of fun out of it!
£15 is about right for it, the characters and story is really good. But the missions to get really repetitive after a while. Maybe play this and something else as well. Otherwise just this as your only game on the go will turn into a massive chore
I think Mafia 3 is quite similar to Sleeping Dogs when that came out on the 360 - an open world game so therefore an automatic comparison to GTA but I agree with an above post. GTA is unbelievably impressive but there's a little bit too much for me to do in it. Mafia 3 is definitely less "infinite" in it's gameplay and the missions involve doing pretty much the same thing for different people but in the same way, but Sleeping Dogs had the same format too. I enjoyed the missions in Mafia BECAUSE they all involved the type of gun and run play that I enjoy. I think £15 is a lot of game for the money as they would say. I want to buy the DLC but £25 for the DLC and £15 for the game - no way!
I completely agree , game showm real promise and the mechanics were good , but doing the same mission over and over again got boring really quick. Worth a punt at £15 for those who haven't tried it though
It is showing as £20.95 now.
This is back on via their ebay account...
